OT: The Matthew Shepard Story

Did anybody else happen to catch the Matthew Shepard story? I am at a loss for words with how disgusted I feel for how much hatred and evil still exists today. How can people be so cruel to other human beings?

Star I read your responses on the Aquarius board and I have to say that I feel for you and your daughter but at the same time she sounds lucky to have you as her mom. I am glad to hear that your daughter is not in that same situation and I hope things will continue to improve for her. If somebody tells me a racist joke and expects me to laugh about it, I would tell them they can take their bigoted attitude somewhere else. I simply won't tolerate any prejudice of any kind and it's good to hear that I am not alone.

I just hope that the Matthew Shepard Story was a reality check for close-minded people and that they can open up their minds and hearts and accept everyone for who they are. Matthew you Shepard was simply being who he was no matter how troubling the situations he experienced.

For that reason and that reason alone, I consider him to be a hero.
