It's a combination of both for me. I'm defiantly a giver by nature. Love to hear that someone cares or does a kind gesture just to show they care. Like finding that small thing that may be insignificant to someone else but means the world to them, I try to do that. So if another does the same in return it melts my heart. That shows affection for me. Having that understanding of your partner that is same wavelength type stuff.

For me I'm literally like clay. I will become influenced by my surroundings so I'm kind of universal when it comes to adapting to a person. Maybe its my Cancer rising or Cancer Venus. The confusing part is how attracted I get to a person. I have a great potential to hang around and adapt to a person I really like, but I have an equal chance of running away if I find their mind and life choices really bother me.
As for looks I'm not necessary attracted to what society would consider the best looking. I can see an average looking person that just has a specific feature I find highly attractive. All it takes is one main feature I can't resist and I will be deeply attracted. These features could be completely basic or odd as well.
I'd say I'm kind of picky but not at the same time. In the end I really just want a person with a good head on their shoulders I can trust and adapt to. I'm smart enough to resist the urge for sex despite a high sex drive and avoid those who are wrong for me, so I'm pretty much just waiting for the right one. I'd rather have nothing at all then become attracted and spend time on an illusion that is bad for me.
