Capricorn Distant

My Capricorn sun/ Cancer moon guy confessed to me after talking as friends for a year that he knew he was in love with me the first time we spoke but his feelings were strong so he was skeptical. After getting to know me he fell for me even more and that is why he had trouble making eye contact with me and felt shy around me. He felt it was much easier to talk to girls and be flirty because he wasn't thinking when he talks to them but didn't want to say something stupid to me or let me know how he really felt since he would be vulnerable. After telling me this a week ago he then begins to be distant and responds to me when I text but the texts are short like one or two words. It's like we aren't friends anymore. Now I wish he never told me how he felt if I knew he would become distant. How do I get him to being friendly again?

Exactly.

I told him I liked him a lot too and I was surprised by all this because I thought at times he didn't even like me. I could tell he was a bit uncomfortable right after he said it he looked away and got quiet. Honestly I didn't know how to process all this emotional talk when I didn't even notice he had any emotional depth.

So he talks about love and you talk about like. Could that be what he feels uncomfortable about? In your opening post you say that you want to be friends/friendly again. Does that mean that you only want him as a friend or do you want more?

I want to be more than friends but slowly. I have to get to know him in this new way first. I messaged him and told him I was surprised by his confession and I do want to talk to him in a courting type of way and he said he wants to do the same. Now I understand what Capricorns have said on this board about feelings deep within that they have yet don't reveal and are great at concealing. I am so glad to see this side of him.
