To all of you who know how to cook, post your signature dish and your go to meal go-to dinner recipe!

And since this is dxp, please include your sign 🙂

As a Cancer this question is right up my ally.

My -signature- dish is a French recipe, slow cook cuts of lamb or beef (depending on my funds) for 4 hours in a wine and (eventually)butter based sauce. It goes well with baby potatoes, or basmati rice and veg (I'm partial to Brussel sprouts)

My most recent go-to has been Indian Byriani made with real Ghee and homemade yogurt, with fresh pan cooked roti.

Nice. How difficult is homemade yogurt?

It is surprisingly simple. You need yogurt as a starter, you add it to milk that has been slowly boiled and then left to cool down. Then you simply keep it in a warm place (oven with the pilot light on works) for 12 or so hours.

Tadda!

Remember to save a little as starter for your next batch.

You can make yogurt cheese by straining the whey from the yogurt you've just made too, it's delicious on homemade bread.

Really that simple? Huh. Think I'll try that in the next few days. I thought one needed something fancy for homemade yogurt!

It's the easiest thing ever, it just takes a long time for the cultures to grow. Google easy yogurt recipe for more specific details but it's prettymuch what I said.

You CAN buy a yogurt maker, and you CAN buy special yogurt starter but you definitely don't have to.
I don't.

Good luck!
