I really like coffee-- one of the vices that I've hung onto.
I forgot to get half & half the other day, and I found that vanilla ice cream does the trick.
Breakfast of champions-- but I'm not going to do without if I don't have to. π

I think it's safe to say that I spend about $ 200 on coffee a month, just drinking it out. Which is mostly what I do. First thing I do in the morning is hit Starbucks or some local drive thru for some fancy coffee. I really don't know how to stop. I just love the whole ritual.
I sometimes go to coffee places 2-3 times a day. Every day, all year.
I love the foamy milk of cappuccino on my tongue, the way bitter espresso tastes and when it hits my brain cells, I love to bite into chocolate espresso bean and wash it down with a warm latte, I love the salty/sweet flavor of salted mocha, I love the creamy ice of vanilla frappe. I just love it all. I am so addicted.Everyone who knows me, knows me as COFFEE person. If it's one thing I am famous for-it would be coffee and all my foreign languages. Oh and being late everywhere.
wow you sound so much like my gemini step mother in law, she and virgo fil really really LOVE the best types of coffee. So much so, they are the owners of one of the most expensive coffee machines. you know those types that cost around $ 2000, and there are some that are called the "rolex of coffee machines" up to 3 grand.
gross coffee, from what people say, are usually from American cafes and restaurants. Watered down coffee and free refills. Like Denny's grand slam breakfast with 4 free refills to fill you up and go to the bathroom. the grainy kind. lol But at least the breakfast is delicious!!! eggs and bacon hearty meal. Pancakes?? Mmmmm.

Coffee helps with depression too.I only stopped when I noticed I was physically addicted.
winter time, when the sun is further away from the equator makes alot of people depressed subconsciously.
people gain more weight, eat more, feel less energetic in general.
I'd say that in the summer i don't drink much coffee at all. I do like the cold delicious coffees at starbucks or the speciality coffee stores. My husband doesn't drink that much at all, except at work cause it's there for everyone. I usually serve him other drinks than coffee, even if it's breakfast.

On the occasions I've imbibed FAR too much coffee, I consistently experience the following side-effects:Heartbeat irregularity
Mild shortness of breath
"The jitters" almost uncontrollable fidgetingRise in body temperature
Last time any of the above happened, I believe black espresso was the culprit.
Quite uncomfortable to say the least. A proper caffeine connoisseur can surely imagine(if not relate to)what the subsequent crash feels like. No bueno.
I just go to bed.
I only get like that though after hanging around at βbucks with my Gem friend.
These
Heartbeat irregularity
"The jitters" almost uncontrollable fidgeting
Rise in body temperature
I like that. lol
It's not as good as adrenaline, but it's kind of fun. π
No such thing as "too much coffee" such blasphemy!!! π

And I'm not talking that cheap product labelled as "coffee" that you find in coffee vendors at work, and that tastes and smells like ashtray
This is the kind of coffee that I drink on daily bases, not that I have a choice. Tastes like muddy water but at 7am I'll take anything. Never fails to give me a stomach ache. Not sure if I ever even tried "real" coffee.

That's not good. π’
Coffee ought to be a delight-- maybe cut it with some cream (half & half or whipping)?
Or maybe you're making it a little too strong?
Sometimes (not always) breakfast blends are lighter roast.
Maybe try one of those.
Yes I love coffee. At home I have instant, though I used to use a stove percolator but I left it at my old place??_.Instant doesn't touch the sides with me I like it white with 1 heaped tsp of sugar..
When I get coffee from a cafe its always a latte, Ive just always done it and I don't bother with sugar??_..sometimes I get a white chocolate mocha on cold rainy days π..
I hate when I overdose on coffee its the most unpleasant feeling??_.its like my nervous system is writhing and I feel it all over my body one time I was working at a cafe, I had a latter in the morning and made myself an iced coffee later but wasn't sure how to make it and pretty much put 6 espresso shots in my drink and drank it and I was a wreck for the rest of the day zipping around, taking orders with my eyes popping out of my face and my teeth chattering??_..when I went home I was drained and twitching
I went from a small to a medium to a large. I can tell I am on my way to an ex-large cup every morning. At first I would only drink it on workdays now I get up on the weekend and go and get it.
I recently got 2 gifts from 2 different people and both were gift cards to coffee places so apparently the secret is out.
I am addicted however, it's really my only vice so I'm cool with it. Except I got my teeth whitened last year for $ 500 and now I need to do it again.
FYI-My dentist told me green tea is horrible for your teeth. I don't remember why exactly.
I will drink Starbucks but Dunkin Donuts is my favorite hands down.

Hah thanks for the advice, I really don't have much of a choice when it comes to my daily doses of coffee though, only coffee available to me (during most of the day at least) comes from a crappy coffee vendor. It's either that or nothing. Having said that, I'm off to get a cup π
Coffee is disgusting. That and it makes your breath smell and your teeth yellow.
99% of you in here probably need some heavy teeth whitening lol!
I heart coffee. I won't do without coffee. The world may plant a smooch on my bottom until I've had that first cup. I drink it in the morning, in the afternoon and evening.

Well, then I'm relieved you'll know it's not because I have poor mouth hygiene but because I drink plenty of coffee! π
But all those coffee joints you guys & gals visit daily with all those flavors and options and shit, is that really coffee though? To me it's more like, I dunno.... dissolved cakes served in coffee cups. lol
Add some milk and sugar, it's really good and the sugar really brings out the coffee aroma π
I only go to a coffee house once in a blue moon. I consider it 'coffee dessert', not a usual cuppa.
I do love who I am on coffee, but if I do it too many days in a row I will literally get sick.
Ugh! I could use a Caramel Frappucino right about now

My favorite lately is "dopio con panna"- double shot of espresso with just a dollop of whipped cream, kinda like German kaffe mit schlag. It's a very good pairing.
Double-espreso mit schlag, lol, sounds like my cup of tea. Espresso is usually all I ever order when I drink out.
It's a date! π

you all should try Turkish Coffee. That stuff is really strong:not my kind of flavour though. We tried it when we were at the Turkish restaurant as Mother in law loves different and eclectic cultural foods.
Ive had it, I live in a middle eastern area so theres heaps of turkish coffee shops, they let you smoke hookas??_..we even have north african and ethiopian coffee shops its really cool sitting in a coffee shop and you have arabs and africans sitting around having conversations around you??_I could just sit in those places by myself smelling coffee and listening to other peoples conversations in languages I can't understand lol

Shut up, Xin.
That would be like me saying you must be fat and insecure-- why else would you arbitrarily insult everyone in this post, if not to make yourself feel better?
.......
Is it even possible to not have white teeth, since the advent of modern dentistry?
smh
Unbelievable.

I can still enjoy a cup here or there. But I literally went from drinking 2 lattes a day to no coffee at all. I just woke up one day and was like, 'im done' lol.
Did you get those lovely headaches that come with withdrawal?
π
Tbh, though, two cups a day isn't really bad, feby.

Last night a young couple came in. Between the rapid Spanish at BOH and their liquid words it was verrrah nice. Middle Eastern I think they were, so sweet. He was feeding her.
You just soak it in.

Ha! Yeah, I see the resemblance.
Anyway, yes-- you did ask for people to share their " ... favourite preconceptions about coffee! :-)"
Which she did.
But there was really no need for her to disparage those of us who β it, as well-- it was super-bitchy.
What can I say? *shrugs*
Just look at how the Leo moons reacted.
Ordered a "GC" but the waitress didn't know what I meant so I had to explain to her, double espresso mit schlag !

I drink coffee like some people smoke!
And I'm not talking that cheap product labelled as "coffee" that you find in coffee vendors at work, and that tastes and smells like ashtray, I'm talking about coffee from a coffee machine or directly off the stove. But how healthy/unhealthy is it really?
