Also, I don't like spaghetti sauce unless there's meatballs in it. A good recipes I recommend is to put tuna into the sauce (no meatballs) and try it. I loved it... my cousins hated it. I guess it's just taste buds.

Tuna in spaghetti sauce? I think I would be with your cousins on that one. lol
Really! It tasted good! You'll never knw unless you try it!
A lot of Italians put seafood in spaghetti sauce...I used to date a full-blooded Italian. Though he never used tuna...it was either crab, clams, or shrimp...he was an excellent cook! Now, I may have to make some spaghetti sauce with seafood!!
Tomato soup costs 69 cents a can and I love it!
Ive had tuna in spaghetti sauce, it was good. The food you guys are talking about is cheaper than fruit, how sad is that?
yeah i know Lena.. it's cheaper to eat unhealthy
Yes, Libragirl...fruit is very expensive...expecially in the wintertime here! I love fruit! But, there are some things I only buy in the summertime!
You are right, Gwen...I never really thought about it that way before...it is cheaper to eat unhealthy!
Sad, indeed!
My cheapest meal (which I make quite often): grilled cheese sandwich. Even cheaper: half a grilled cheese sandwich. lol. It's quite unhealthy, but I always resort to that when there's nothing else to eat. I particularly like a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup! And ground pepper in the tomato soup. Hmm...other cheap foods I like...canned anything, like veggies or fruit or whatever, I'm definitely not one of those people who cares whether it's canned or fresh. Sometimes a bowl of generic cereal hits the spot...you know, something resembling Fruit Loops, but with a name like "Loop De Loos" or whatever. I'm known to eat a LOT of toast (that's pretty cheap, just involves bread and an eensy bit of butter).
One cheap food I hate that everyone else loves: those Ramen noodle cup things...I'd tell you why, but you'd all never want to eat them again....lol....
P.S.
Your fish related ideas actually sound really yummy to me Gwen, I love fish of any kind, all seafood rocks my world!
Those Ramen noodle things became popular after my initiation into adulthood...so, they are not a fave of mine...nor have I been tempted to make them a fave of mine...
But, grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup!....you got me drooling!! And ground peppper...now, I am begging!!
I read a recipe the other day where they took tomato soup (canned) and prepared it with water and added basil, oregano, garlic, and ground pepper...simple variation...
I Love Seafood Too!
Star
star LOL! i love noodles too..la myun. 😄*
did i mention that i hate sushi? 😛
nvm -_- you dont like noodles LOL oooh wells, if i knew you irl, id make the noodles that we have, its soooo good but oh well.
I do the tuna helper stuff
only after you let it sit on the stove for about 20 minutes with the heat off so it thickens - I put it into a pan, cover it in cheese. Put it into a preheated oven for about 20 minutes and out comes casseral that no one is the wiser other than the one who knows how to spell casserol...he he
It's called "mom's old cooking" guarenteed cheap meal.
but seriously, I do ramen noodles. Only one dollar for 3 meals. Amazing.
lol... I love those crab cakes

I want to know what your cheapest meals are... The cheapest I have is no-name brand macaroni and cheese for $ 1.
A real meal, howver, is tunafish casserole. SOund disgusting doesn't it... It's a family recipe. Two cans of tuna, two cans of mushroom gravy, one can of peas (though I prefer corn, my family prefers peas). Heat it up up and put it over rice. It is reallly yummy. I rcomment everyone to try it.. even if it looks like something hte cat threw up.
