I drink sugar free soda... I don't like diet soda. The sugar free taste better. I don't exactly know what the difference between the two are so don't comment they are they same thing cause they don't taste the same.
But when I got off coffee and regular soda I had headaches. It's your body going through withdraw from the caffeine. If you stick to it the headaches will go away in a few days to a week. Also, I can no longer drink 12 Oz or more I have to get those mini cans now cause I can never finish a whole can anymore. Eventually I hope to be off soda completely.

Ah good to know I'm not talking crazy and embarass myself. I doubt if this a healthy alternative but sometimes, just sometimes I drink a lil regular soda (Mello Yello only) when my blood sugar drops dangerously low. But I can't make drinking regular soft drinks a habit cus that'll have me feeling bad. I was thinking about switching over to Gatorade zero drinks. I just hope that doesn't have caffeine in it. But yeah we both need to get off soda completely.

Gatorade doesn't have caffeine that I know of but I know it has a lot of sugar. The zero sugar is so gross tho lol like diet soda to me. I don't drink it often though like maybe when out at the beach and get over heated or after a work out but try to stick to water. I keep it around just incase I need it type thing for electrolytes.
I will drink regular soda when out to dinner or if they don't have pepsi or coke zero available but it's not everyday. Maybe every couple of weeks or so.
switch to carbonated water maybe?
just drink regular soda but reduce the amount, and any time you feel like drinking some shit like soda or beer, just drink a glass of fresh water instead, maybe put a little bit of syrup inside if you need a kick. Most people are dehydrated constantly
surprise surprise, diet soda turns out to be a drug:

I like those Celsius drinks. Try that! No sugar, lots of caffeine and supposed to burn fat. They taste great!
I never really liked sodas.
Try gingerale. Look-up what gingerale is good for. It's a healthy way to get a soda kick. They have really pure gingerale with a real bite to it and more potent ginger (more expensive). On the rare occasion that I want some fizz, that's what I drink.
I'm a tea person... tea, tea, tea, particularly green tea.

You know, I feared it. It always felt too strong on my throat like a burning sensation. Didn't really like the feel. I could take a few sips.
Also, I just wasn't into drinking what amassed to a chemical equation. It seemed suss, lol.

Try drinks sweetened with Stevia. The taste might not be for everyone but if you end up liking it then there's no loss as it's zero calories, it's natural as it's derived from a plant and it's known for having cancer fighting properties.
Zevia is my go to brand. They have a variety of flavors and they have caffeinated and non-caffeinated options. They also don't add food coloring and additives to their sodas, so they're clear (better for your teeth and general health).

I done went the gingerale route. Diet gingerale that is. It's too sweet. You can't taste the ginger in it. I suppose regular gingerale you can taste the ginger in it but it has too much sugars and added sugars in them.

It’s the caffeine that causes the headache initially, well caffeine withdrawal. It’s funny you posted this as I’m a diet soda drinker and am trying to quit at the moment or at the very least heavily cut down.
That's what's up. Not saying that in a proud way. Just that I'm glad im not the only diet soda consumer on here.

Hm interesting. This article was written back in 2007 long before I became addicted to diet sodas. And did I read some lady actually consumed a whole 12 pak diet coke in like wha per day or something like that? Incredible
This is a hard take many people appall, but I used sparkling water to quit drinking all types of soda. Just pure water, carbonation, and maybe a tiny hint of some flavor. I won't lie, it was hard to get use to drinking. I pretty much had to force myself. Now I love it though. I can slam carbonated water all day. I might get a little bloated, but it's hydrating at least. It even still has the carbonation as a reminder that life sucks, and everything we love eventually ends up bad for our health.

Yeah, same sugar as regular soda and I didn't think of your level of consumption and being diabetic. I bet ginger does taste sweeter.

Do we have any other diet soda drinkers here besides me? And I'm talking heavy diet soda drinkers. Not just 1 or 2 here and there.
My other question is if you are a heavy diet soda drinker and lets say you tryna quit. Do any of yalls head be hurting? Like one of those migraine type of headaches? Just need to know if it's just me or if im talking crazy or what. I tried quitting diet sodas altogether and each and every time I tried my head be hurting a lot. I can only guess I done made that a habit. I only did tried to quit because of the scare I be reading on the webs about aspartame and to stop gaining weight. I got back into it because I'm sick and tired of those painful headaches. I sincerely hope I'm just talking crazy but I doubt it. It seem I'm talking true story if I get headaches if I go without diet sodas for long periods of time. And it all goes away once I start back up again.
As far as the constant weight gain goes I think I may need to cut back on the beer. I know, I keep saying that and don't ever do it.
