fired

my best friend at work got fired today...no warning,nothing...she's doing ok...but why? is that righht? She's the one i always talk to..does she have the right to ask qiestions and have warnings or something? arg...life

It depends. Many company policies say they have the right to fire you on the spot without any warnings but they normally still give you at least a two week notice and definitely a reason. If they fire you instantly like that, it is usually because the employee broke company policy in a substantial way. I think your friend has the right to know why she was fired in case she doesn't know.

yes, that's what i though, a warning at least. I'm afraid it might happen to me too..I lost my lunch buddy. she's a gem too. she doesn't work as hard and sometimes late..i don't know..she's not that good at what she's doing but she's entry level..so I gotta work hard on monday hahaha.

Not really .. not unless it's an illegal termination, which if it was, she would know, for there would have already been the warning signs, such as observing the employer discriminating. Most people who are prejudice, for whatever reason .. exhibit this attitude.

If it's not discrimination .. then an employer can fire a person at any time, for no reason at all.

Just as .. an employee can quit their job at any time, for no reason at all.
