Gemini man starting fights

Long story short, I have been with a Gemini for 10 years, we started as best friend and we've been married for a few years. We went through a lot of rough patches but it's somewhat getting better with compromises. We want to stay together. Things have gotten better for us after following the advices received here and we decided to renew our vows next year.

Anywho! There is a problem I cannot understand.
My Gemini husband talked to his best friend of 20 years, who I've been friends with for years as well. They are like brothers.
My husband admitted to his best friend that he likes to start fight with me and he doesn't know why. Fights about everything. And I witness them as well. Things like, watching TV or what we are going to eat. Going to the bank. All petty things. Even when I do exactly what he asked of me, he won't be happy, and he will spark something.

When we talk about us, or people ask him about us he say he's happy and in love, yet will start fights.

What's the reasoning behind that from a Gemini man?

My only guess is that he is bored and being passive aggressive.

We are superficial and I think that leads into being critical. If things aren't a certain way or don't pan out as we expected, then you can bet you are gonna hear us bitch about it.
