I need help understanding this Gemini guy!!

Hey Geminis! I need some help understanding this Gemini that I met.. (this was very recent) ; We've spoken a few times over the course of the past month. He's very sweet, funny, but mainly intelligent quick witted and EXTREMELY talkative... But whenever I'm going anywhere and it can be ANYWHERE on campus, and he happens to be in the same vicinity, I'll catch him staring at me. I don't get a stalker vibe, but why doesn't he approach me? My colleagues have even noticed him staring at me. When I make eye contact with him he'll smile at me, which I thought would be a tell tale sign that he's got an interest in me, but other times he seems very distant from everyone which is odd for a Gemini. What's going on with him?
