What is the difference between a pulled muscle and a charley horse? So far two hours of massage has helped greatly but I can't stand on it in order to get the water that's in the living room so those of you who had charlie horses were you up and about and two hours or is this a pulled muscle?

A pulled muscles is a muscle you have over-exerted. It's not a tear, but the muscles has been overstretched to potentially the point of tearing. A Charley horse is basically the opposite, in which the muscle spasms and contracts resulting in a painful cramp.

Usually you have to do something to pull a muscle. Do you work out? Did you do anything strenuous? Also do you drink a lot of water or not?

Charlie horse-had to google that never heard this term before hehe I like it! Charlie horse!

A 1907 Washington Post story, found by the American Dialect Society, stated that “charley horse” was used in reference to pitcher Charley “Old Hoss” Radbourne who often suffered with cramps during games in the 1880s.
