I love the concepts that go beyond organization and de-cluttering and at the heart teach you to appreciate the belongings you already have.
Really love her method of organizing where everything is visible. Folding clothes, linens, etc to be upright so at a glance you see everything you have without shifting through drawers.
Posted by mudraI have the next 5 days off. I'm gonna watch and do. Thanks!
You will not be disappointed!

Just broke my fav candle holder n instead of throwing it I’m gluing it back
Her only rule really is "does this item spark joy?" if so keep. If not, thank the item and donate/trash. So keep the candle holder!!!
She's very gentle in her approach. Some of these people are borderline hoarders and she's able to get through to them. Pretty incredible!
@PlutoRose
hahaha I'm fear of the future 100% I've been downsizing for 2 years and it does feel good but now I think gee I could have used that item and that perpetuates the fear

it all sparks joy to a hoarder tho - geez but those people can be pretty messed up
I got the book last year I am loving the series 😄
Closet organized by type and then color. Crop tops, sleeveless, short sleeves, jackets, long sleeves, dresses, garment bags

Also scored these drawer organizers at ikea the other day.
Still working through my 9 drawer dresser but this is the progress so far...

Love the show! I love a clutter free home. It’s harder to have with my daughter and husband than when I was single, but I try. 😂

Posted by mudraI spent every day this 5 days off going through all my stuff and sorting. Folding clothes in tiny rectangles like a meditation with Netflix on lol.
Yay! Go you
I've been trying to do a little after work. But this weekend its on like donkey kong
@impulsive
yes please. post all your ideas/pics to help the rest of us stay motivated.
Posted by Black-MambaI've binged on the show. I have the book
Is it worth it to buy the book? Or does the show pretty much cover it
Posted by Black-MambaI can tell you, you still have way too many clothes
lol and this is just whats hanging in my closet. I also have a 9 drawer dresser full of shirts, sweaters, jeans, etc. Plus whatevers in the hamper
I have already filled up a bag of clothes to donate.
Don't hate on me cc. I gotta look good at work to convince people I know what the hell I'm talking about despite my age...
Plus I have a nordrack app shopping addiction.

That is the true secret to decluttering.
I interpret her mo as less about decluttering and more about taking inventory of the possessions in your life.

Brilliant minds think alike 😂😂
So I found some of her folding/organization tips helpful...but I’m really not all there for her “does this item spark joy” approach
Like my toothbrush does not spark joy...but I clearly need it...
Lol and now I’m abusive guys.
Abusive to the clothes cause I’m creasing them.
Triggered by wrinkled clothes.
Thanks dxp, you never disappoint

Like with your clothes there’s things you reach for first.
And then there’s the stuff you wear cause nothing else is clean 😂😂

Share pics if you want.
I’m tackling the last few drawers tonight and then going to sort through jewelry next.

It's funny how she sounds like my mother who likes to keep items at home. Every single items!
She made me grow to be one of those minimalist people due to our never-ending argument.
She's a pisces. She likes to keep things in places.
Whereas me?
I like to present them to people 🙂
i only keep things that i consider to be 'my weapons' a.k.a beneficial for my future moves.

Bout time.. About time..
Posted by Gobby^ Says the bitter misandronist...
Being organised and not encouraging clutter is pretty much common sense. Does anyone (male or female) really need to buy a book about it? Do you need a book (or fad) to encourage you to be brutally honest about your hoarding habit, when people in your personal life have probably been telling you the same thing for years? I mean, seriously!
Instead of being a radical hypocrite, maybe you (and others here) should employ a combination of self-awareness and common sense (which, btw, genderless). What Marie Kondo is peddling is nothing new or revolutionary - minimalism has been around for centuries...
But you should've said that to Marie Kondo, not ruminating here under LadyNeptune's umbrella of excitements, okay.

Xcept the scales. They must remain clean 😜
Where are the scales at, btw? Who use 'em?
Ok finished clothes officially
Crazy how a simple change in how I’m folding clothes opened up so much space. In addition to what I had in the dresser prior I’ve also added 2 storage bags worth of clothes + a drawer dedicated to linens.

Top 3 drawers are sock, bras and panties. Y’all don’t need to see that
Also I finally took down the tree.
Xmas decorations have never been so neat!

Sorry, I can’t respect a lazy and entitled princess.

Yes she could’ve and does by the end do better.
But lazy? That’s a bit far.
It’s easy to judge when you haven’t lived that life.

Well, what happens if the person is busy outside or she simply am not interested in home work?
It would've been easier to hire a maid so that she could focus on other business' she takes care of from the outside a.k.a jobs.
Unless she manages time very well, of course..

You don’t have to like to clean, to clean.
You have to clean to keep your life in order.
Look at someone’s living space and see where they’re at in their headspace.
I see cleaning as evidence I respect myself and my roommates/spouse/family.
You let your kids live in a messy way, how are they going to value the things they’re given?
It’s deeper than doing the dishes.
This is why ppl reject their possessions and go minimalist.
It’s easy to purge and start over with space.
Exactly, as long as there are not many people living in a space (for example, living room) it will be easy to clean.
More people, more mess 😅

...on netflix currently. Amazing series!!
I'm on step one, clothes. Re-organizing feels good.
Gonna cry when I get to books/papers cause that part of my life/home is a chaotic mess.
