You don't know how badly i want everything you said to be right. But in my experiences both personal and those around me. This state leads to delusions at times, delusions that create false standards that when once the "honeymoon" period is over really come crashing down and you realize your house is just like any other house. But yes do tread carefully.

Meet him but take things slow thereafter. The faster you go, meaning you and both of you, the greater the chance it will crumble. When things move to fast we tend to fill in the blanks ourselves. This is why I think it is better to have one-on-one contact sooner vs. later and then to take things slow.
