I'm a Libra and have been dating a cancer for a few months. I absolute adore him and its going well so far. So go for it.

I have a Cancer male friend, he wanted something with me in the beginning and I had to set him straight that all I had to offer was friendship. I love him as a friend. But relationship I dont think so, too emotional, controlling and pouty. lol.

Just say no to Libras and Cancers. They torment the fuck out of each other. I feel more empathy for the Libras than I do Cancers in those pairings, tbh. Cancers are emotional drains on Libras and Libras airy ways is too much for Cancer to cope with with all the emo tendencies.

My first serious relationship was with a Libra (Im cancer)

We worked well together. He proposed etc. but the issue was he was still immature and so was I. haha our fights were funny and dramatic but they were over pretty quick and no grudges were held...and i did not have issues with his airy ways lol. He was very loving but he could also be really bad when he didnt get his own way. He didnt give up easily either. He is now engaged to a Scorpio with a daughter and if the Scorpio wasn't so jealous we would still be good friends. He will still contact me every now and then though.
