Posted by EvilHareIf you scared shitless - ant is an animal!
Coyotes aren't larger than Great Danes.

Posted by EvilHareSeriously? One in the front, about three behind it in the woods. You must live in the city.
Coyotes also don't generally travel in packs.

Posted by Deedee86Yeah I banged a wine glass to the metal chair I sat in and they left before.
My dog killed one in my backyard once. It looked like a small German Shepard. I don't know if it was full grown. I hear them all the time but never saw one close up.
Just make loud noises and they will run.

Posted by EvilHareOkay... Haha. Look em up. East coast coyotes. Check the size.

They were huge. Larger than great Danes.

And they won't mess with adult humans (unless maybe if they're rabid).

Posted by CancerOnTheCuspFrom 10 feet away it looked huge. I have a great Dane and it seemed about the same size with longer shaggy hair. Mr. SpecificPosted by LunabeeYou sure that wasn't filtered by your excitement? Coyotes aren't larger than Great Danes.

Posted by LunabeeI think that's your perception. Seen them plenty of times, and not a one was that large.Posted by CancerOnTheCuspFrom 10 feet away it looked huge. They tend not to have a fear of humans.click to expand

Posted by CancerOnTheCuspYou must be used to seeing small things. Not my problem. 😆Posted by LunabeeI think that's your perception. Posted by LunabeeNo. I've encountered a bear with cubs from a distance that was a little too uncomfortable for me.Posted by CancerOnTheCuspYou must be used to seeing small things. Posted by febyI live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge and there are coyotes and also coy dogs that get much larger than coyotes - but I haven't seen anything larger than a Great Dane ? I've caught glimpses of large ones entering the brush after being in the open and I see some strange stuff that is unexplainable out here. I've seen very large dogs that live in the mountains that won't come close to me at all and they look like they could be someone's pet. I think they are all doing the hanky panky out there and producing some strange type of canine.Posted by cowpuncherI've heard about that before and it makes me sad inside for fido 😢Posted by febyThat pack has come down out of the hills right along the property here before.... less than 60 yards from the house, easily visible, in DAYLIGHT. That's ballsy.Posted by cowpuncherexactly. my mom lives in the blue ridge mountains and you can hear them like that.Posted by EvilHareThey do. We have a pack that roams around the area, and comes near my place about once a month. You can hear them yipping and carrying on up in the woods about 2 consecutive nights every month.
Coyotes also don't generally travel in packs.
They can and will kill your dog if you have a dog. They also have absolutely no problem with the idea of eating your dog if they're in the mood for a meal.
Packs have been observed sending the younger pack members to play with a dog before... then when the young coyotes go back into the wood/hills/brush/whatever your dog follows them... and the pack is waiting there. They kill the dog, eat it, etc. Bye bye Fido.
In areas where the bunny huggers have banned hunting near suburbia, after several generations, the coyotes lose a lot of their fear of man. Thanks to that, attacks on children have been on the rise for years.
I was there about a year ago with my dog outside at night and heard the yipping and barking of a group of coyots become louder and louder like they were coming over the ridge by my mom's house. I ran fast as hell with my dog inside and then came back out but without my dog. it was silent so I didn't stick around outside for long.
my mom has told me that one of her horses chased a bear from its field lol and that the coyote don't fuck with the horses either.

Posted by SoulI obviously mean if one tried to attack I'll add. Don't kick random things for no reason lol.
Just kick one of them in the face. They will all likely run away after that. Its not like a pack of wolves, which would likely kill and eat you no doubt .Coyotes aren't as tough or as brave as wolves.
