Roman Catholicism is a Christian denomination with historical practices that some interpret as related to pagan rituals. However, it is widely recognized as a legitimate religion. The claim that it is witchcraft is based on specific interpretations and should be examined critically with historical context.
I love stuff like this, thanks.
Don't give something beautiful and natural like witchcraft such a bad name.
By religions' definition any energy work is witchcraft. Therefore even praying is a form of witchcraft.

Listen the virtue of a religion lies in the humility and compassion of the people who follow it...that's mostly where religion ..all religion pagan ...christian ..satanism ...islam fail...It's corrupted by worst of people instead of letting the best of people shine though.
The best of people ..is the best. 🙂
All people.
Theres nothing compassionate about witchcraft.
Let's make sure we understand which practice came first.
Ignorance leads to hatred.
A lot of religions have altars, candles, statues, the use of incense... quite random links, obviously all religions and spiritual practices have things in common, as they often come from similar roots, times etc.
Catholicism tried to erase anything that looked pagan, witchcraft is considered a sin... didn't you thought about this? I like objective information, not biased one trying to make me hate a religion.

This theory's bases are weak (see bolded part), religions share elements and not because of this are the same.
One difference:
-Catholicism was a way of control, as it wanted people as ignorant as possible and scared of God.
-Witchcraft promotes control over natural forces and makes "dark practices", something condemned by Catholics.
Clear? Any counter-argument?

I know two things about Catholicism and I tell you is not like Witchcraft. Do more research, just one link is for the weak! Catholicism "copied" Judaism. Everything is a copy of a copy, what makes religion shit is the use of it.
Which religion is worth it? xD

@bricklebark Within the last year, I have heard about satanic ritual abuse and child sacrifice in Catholic and Christian churches. There are some witness accounts that there are dungeons in the Vatican where sinister stuff goes on which honestly wouldn't surprise me. That place is HUGE above ground, can't imagine what their basement is like. Anyhow, there were witnesses who claimed seeing Pope Francis partake in child trafficking, rape, and child sacrifice
I bet the Messiah is turning in his tomb

Those are ritualsAnd "proof" is just a word
I respect all religions. I also understand why some people object to them.
They are catholic rituals.
Proof is a word....
Meaning evidence or argument establishing a fact or the truth of a statement.
You could say it has a lot in common with witchcraft.

Remove the word satanic and the rest is correct ...at one time or another ....just with less theatrics. Maybe not in the vatican. But huge child abuse. That is established fact.

Any practise or religion where you pray to an object, statue, person or anything other then God/Jesus is considered witchcraft. So yas
Catholicism you pray to statues and stuff, right ?! In protestantism it's forbidden. Catho take the word of the pope, if he's cool, you have it easy.

Yep. That's why Christians don't believe in Catholicism

Arent most christians catholics?
the true meaning of Witch is ' Wise woman' before greeks and romans made it into a bad thing. lol males who didnt understand females. then the churches in the dark ages went crazy with it. writing all those stupid about how they knew what witch was. again a male who didnt inderstand females. some of those book about witchs caused a lot of women to die. then in the 60s and 70s people read those stupid books but made it into a good thing. but the true meaning of the word Witch was still lost. there is no Witch craft or all that other bull. The word Witch only means one thing. "Wise Woman". so sad how the word has gotten soo missed used for hundreds of years and is still missed used to this day. just putting that out there
No saints under glass?

They will also keep, for instance, an appendage
of a so-called saint ... I think it's called a relic.
And heads... they keep those too.

Isn't praying to any idol itself against that grain in general?

I think it is, yes... if I'm understanding you
correctly.
will never understand how someone covers up child abuse........or tortures their parishoners from abstaining from sex when our bodies were naturally created to procreate.....plus + only a handful of actual people in this world are asexual
----
I completely agree on the first part, but celibacy is chosen and has its reasons, mainly spiritual, it is also because as a guide if they had families they would focus on those matters instead of giving themselves equally to others. It has more to do with spirituality than with asexuality. I don't care, is their choice.

not really ... If it were there choice then I think that the church shouldn't demand it... as #1 that restricts them from that choice and #2 it only perpetuates these sexually repressed men to child abuse 😢

But they aren't obliged to join, if you choose so, you have to obey their rules. Some are sexually repressed others don't find sexuality that important. The church has been home of many abusers, yes, but they aren't pedophiles because of celibacy.

It's bizarre imo that priests (Catholic) are not
allowed to marry and have families-- that is
unnatural, I agree, there.
But-- I also agree with Blackburn... *
It's spiritual.
It's not about being *good* -- it's about what
you're binding to yourself on a spiritual level.
Edit... *on the theory behind it.
Sleepy tonite-- no posting skillz. ?
