I thought that was cool as shit... growing up in AK we had earthquakes all the time, but I've been here 13 yrs now and haven't felt one since leaving. They evacuated bldgs in my area! Crazy, it was ONLY a 5.8!

Shit why are people making light of this? Will it still be cool when shit start cracking & breaking all over the place? That would cause people to loose their homes, cars, lives..."cool", are you shitten me?

We're having a bad thunderstorm right now....surprised I still have power....
Now wondering if I felt the earthquake too........I assumed it was just the thunder that was shaking the house a little. :/

Some reports are saying they felt it in the Carolinas

wah 😢

my friend in WV just called me on her way to work and said she didn't think there was any injuries or anything but heard that the lines were down and no one was able to make calls in or out of most of VA......

then she's like "hey let me call you back there's a bunch of accidents and a fire up the road, I'll call you when I get to work"

:/ great

im outside of Philly ..i was at work dozing off to an instructional video ..and i thought my boss was fuckin with me ....b/c my chair started shaking tremendously ...(like i got caught) ...i fuckin turn around to people panicking lol

I must say ..it was a bit unsettling but at the same time - somewhat cool to experience.

yes, yes i did. at first i thought the couple downstairs was getting really frisky, but then i realized the whole damn house was shifting so it def wasn't that. and then the glass on our kitchen cabinets' doors started shaking. i thought it had to be an earthquake, and then i saw it on the news about an hour later.

I have a brother and a sister that live fairly near each other in Virginia (near Roanoke)... the rest of our Michigan family and friends have been all freaking out, OMG OMG are they okayyyy?!

So I called my sister.. she's fine (was out shopping for new work pants haha), had only felt the smallest of tremors that knocked a knick-knack off a shelf as the ground trembled for a few seconds.. and she'd talked to our brother already and he and his woman are fine too. So at least I was able to calm down the rest of my panicked, freaking out family haha

Heh I hit up my friends and family on the east coast in that area when it happened.
Their responses were mostly "The house kind of shook and the paintings moved".

SOOO TAME versus California.

But I'm NOT the person you want with you on an EQ. I start yelling and screaming out of excitement, stand where I'm NOT supposed to, and pretend to surf the earthquake.

I kind of like that you northerners get to worry about a hurricane for once. Ha 😛

I swear Home Depot pays the weather channels to include Florida in every hurricane's predicted path so everyone will go and buy generators and shit.

Hahaha I'm from Southern Virginia, and we always get hurricanes compared to Northern Virginia. But I understand; Florida is always in the predicted path lol
