Imagine a commercial...with a drunk standing in public and shit rolling down their legs? Or a photo of the insides of one's intestines and liver? Or the family found in pieces on the side of a road after a drunk crashes into them?
Those commercials need to be aired when a drunk is sober. There would be more AA attendance I'm sure.

It'd never work. People still smoke even with the graphic commercials aimed to scare them off cigarettes. The mentality is that, "It'll never happen to me". I know drunks who believe they're too experienced in both drinking & driving to ever cause an accident. These people KNOW what drinking does, but just like smokers, they either delude themselves or just dont give a crap.
I'm a smoker. I've seen people with holes on their necks after losing part of their gullet due to smoking but I still smoke. It's the addict mentality. We tend not to associate ourselves with the dangers of our habits until it's too late.click to expand

Smoking a cigarette isn't going to leave another human being's body parts scattered on a road, nor does it alter the mind. My point was...why is it more important to bash smokers from the drinkers who do MORE damage TO OTHERS. Ever see little kids body parts scattered on a road?click to expand

Maybe because there's no such thing as 2nd hand drinking. I don't know. But you're right, they are way too harsh on smokers than drinkers. Both kill innocent bystanders whichever way you look at it & deserve equal focus. But hey...click to expand

No I'm not, passive smoking can also kill just like drunk driving. Only difference is that one is slow death while the other can kill you on impact.click to expand

Cap10, I'm really not concerned about exhaust fumes so I guess I'll just let others worry about that.

Yeah. I figured. Damn those cigarettes! Real hazards...meh? Who cares?
Go into an enclosed garage and start your car. Hang out for an hour or so. Result = death.
Do the same experiment with 10 people smoking cigarettes in a garage for an hour. Results = stinky clothes and watery eyes.

Look, we cant all crusade for the same cause. The world is full of problems as it is. Fumes are just not something that I'm interested in personally, just like I'm sure there are some world problems you dont give squat about because the passion isnt there. I dont care about exhaust fumes *shrugs*click to expand

He's not saying you should be concerned with exhaust fumes. he's saying that exhaust is 1000 times worse than cigarette smoke, yet people crucify smokers for our deadly second hand smoke...it's dumb.click to expand
