Do you only give candy to the small children?

I ask because I love to see the older kids come out to trick or treat too, whether they're trick or treating themselves or a chaperone with the kids.

Had some office small talk (dont know why I bother. I come to work to eat and get paid) and majority of the people here say they pass up the bigger kids citing them as greedy or the holiday belongs to the littles. I noticed when I was younger, my dad never wanted to give kids over a certain height candy either.

Them I remember going to a Halloween party in 8th grade and it wasn't a kids Halloween party, for sure. I wanted to trick or treat but the neighborhood folks wouldn't give me candy because I was "too big". I mean yeah, I was shaped like an Amazon princess but I was still a kid.

How do you all feel about age/height requirements for passing out candy??

Give it to the older kids too.

They may have gotten stuck escorting the little ones around, so they deserve a little something for the effort.

Plus, I don't necessarily know their home situation. Their parents might have lost jobs, etc and thet may have scraped together enough money for a costume or used last year's or borrowed a costume and some free candy might just make things a little more bearable.

Aaawwwwwnnnn you gotta big heart.

My older son stopped after 6th grade. He just thought he was too cool.

My younger son is in 8th grade is this is his first year not going. I just buy candy and they hang out with their friends.

My youngest is tall for his age. I brought him out when he was 11 years old and some people criticized him for being too old to trick or treat. I would just nicely tell them that he is only 11.
