What I find hilarious is that the majority of female accounts were bots.

Sausage fest through and through.
isn't that true for most dating sites though?

I was looking to buy websites a few years back and a LOT of the dating apps tried to make themselves more appealing by stating things like "5,000 preloaded profiles of beautiful men and woman".

the whole online dating thing is such a sham now.

Yup. 😆

I used to be a moderator for okcupid...to check if people were real or not.

Some female profiles were so off.

why would anyone use a working email account and not a throw away?
Not everyone is there for nefarious reasons.
oooh nefarious, great word. I thought that was the main draw for that site?

But I guess private, discrete and confidential =/= nefarious

Site where people who are looking for an adventure on the side of their marriage got hacked.

Millions of profiles have been busted. 15000 government and military.

If you created an account on that site, time to change your debit card because those numbers are going to be used.
i read about this today, Damnie. The site consists mostly of male members about 95% and many members are fake females. I guess it's to bring in the business.

Gosh....so so MANY men out there not happy in their marriages—

LOL i remember several friends told me that they met people off of Ashley Madison. one of them bragged about meeting people off there regularly. apparently 95% of the profiles are men. the rest are like spam bots or employees trolling the men.

only very few real women and most likely gutter ugly types.

jesus christ the lies. oh man.
+111000000

they bragged they met women there?? it's 95% men!

that little 5% of women got alot of action. lol

The psychological catfish archetype.

Week 1 - Posts about ex problems

Weeks 2-3 - Starts to realise they can probably distract themselves from the breakup by seeking attention from some knight on DXP.

Week 3 - PMs knight. Mentions something about ex not being able to handle intensity of (insert any water placement here).

Week 4- Mentions meeting up in the future.

Months 2-6 - Does nothing except flake, makes more and more provocative posts about ex being back in their life while juggling mountain of demanding PMs from DXP knight wondering what the score is. Meanwhile every post they make on DXP starts to look more and more like a mission statement application to some Blind Date show. The whole world owes them in relationships, and supposedly the whole world is chasing their affection. Because water placement. Because intensity.

Month 7 - Reality hits. No one is chasing them. On a lonely cold night logged into DXP, they receive a PM from the online predator. "Hai' I'm a Scorpio Mars... REALLY sorry I haven't seen your threads until now...."

Romantic comedy ensues.
omg this list is genius!!! 😆

the water placement, - because intensity all over this is too much genius!!

lol @ stupidity. I'm telling you peeps...it's good money catching these jackasses. 😄

"Some people were idiotic enough to sign up using company and government work email addresses, making them especially easy to positively identify. Our quick review found 6,904 addresses linked to the Canadian and American governments, plus another 7,239 in the U.S. Army, 3,531 in the Navy, 1,114 Marines and 628 in the Air Force."

The top 25 cities of cheaters...New York placed 2nd. lol... 3/4 I'm sure are all the corrupt politicians too.

(find a jackass in your city..http://www.businessinsider.com/ashley-madison-data-chart-of-cheaters-2015-8).

"But data released online in the wake of the hack on Ashley Madison’s servers certainly seems to show otherwise. Someone using a credit card belonging to a Joshua J. Duggar, with a billing address that matches the home in Fayetteville, Arkansas owned by his grandmother Mary—a home that was consistently shown on their now-cancelled TV show, and in which Anna Duggar gave birth to her first child—paid a total of $ 986.76 for two different monthly Ashley Madison subscriptions from February of 2013 until May of 2015.

Image Not Found

The two accounts overlap by a period of a few months. When he launched the second account, Duggar paid an initial fee of $ 250 that appears to have gone toward the purchase of an “affair guarantee”:

Customers who buy 1,000 credits for $ 250 receive a money-back “affair guarantee,” if they don’t have an affair within three months."

I felt so conflicted. One of the most awkward conversations in my life.
I can only imagine. Kudos to you for having the guts to say something about it, though.

I honestly don't know what I would do. Probably keep quiet and all the while have the feeling of resentment fester inside me.

I don't know...sounds good to think I did it out of a moral compass.

But the truth is..the situation was messy, I didn't know the whole situation (I thought he was oblivious with a lot of things)...and a part of it can be considered selfish since I wanted my peace of mind and for the fighting every night to end. With or without my input, they would've divorced anyway so that took care of a lot of concerns I had over my actions.
