why have you decided its okay for you to reveal yourself to the internet and current DXP forum?

do you consider current or future enemies? current
friends etc...

there is a wave of DXP that WILL NOT reveal themselves for this reason.

I have a natural curiosity about others here, it's nice to have familiar faces- even online.
In return I think it's nice to have some pics here so others also know who they are interacting with 🙂

Lamo at OP…

DXP is a sort of social activity site for many years (I am here for 12) and like many other sites trying to connect people with common sense and interests. Tell me? Do you wear a mask or try to be faceless when you go out in real life..? Do you have any problem to reveal your appearance in “fear of something-may-happen”?

People take themselves too “seriously” nowadays…

I have people I know who found me on this site..and friends of mine know about dxp so they sometimes read my posts and troll me irl.

No ex could be surprised by anything I shared here, since I also shared it in real life.

No problems with people who don't put a picture up. They have their reasons.

There are some good points here. I mean if someone was a good enough hacker to figurer out exactly who you are from nothing but a picture, they could simply follow the trail your ip address leaves each time you visit a link with let's effort.

What does it matter if someone shares a picture? I don't get this thread at all.

After years of being on line via MySpace, facebook as well as many years with online gaming you learn to trust those a tad bit more that are willing to show who they are. Just watch out for catfish! Lol

*shrug* to me it doesn't matter if someone posts a picture Or not, they are free to do whatever.

As for being worried about things being written- simple- don't write/say crap you are worried someone might stumble across!

If a real life bitch who hates you found you on dxp and was really into astrology.. they could totally fuck with you irl.

I'm not old. I was on myspace.

Sometimes I forget that some peeps who hang on dxp don't actually believe in astrology. I'm still confused about that.

I stand by most of the bullshit I've said. I don't care if people see something I said somewhere. If I said it, then I said it. Some people aren't going to like things I think or say, I'm used to that. I've posted pictures here, told personal stories, and shared controversial views, I've even posted my cell phone number for someone who was threatening some stupid shit. This forum is a community (of sorts) and I've met some good people here. It's just a picture, why not show the person behind the screen?

Of course, the other side of this coin is simply the fact that it's the Internet. Most people will never know for sure if any of what is said here is true. Are these pictures really me? Do I really think the way this Internet persona portrays?

Eh..

What's the downside?

I am super grown. Big girl panties.

I don't say anything here that I wouldn't say in real life. That's how I was taught - pretend that everything you say or write will be broadcast.

I walk it like I talk it, say it like I mean it.

Furthermore, I am THE matriarch of my family and a young matriarch at that. Everyone defers to me and I kept it real... el jefe... and the boss at work.

I share my posts and some of yours with my family, especially the funny ones and the controversial ones. Some are good teaching tools for my children.

Oh, once on another astrology site I was blogging on, I thought one of my directors from my previous job was on the site. Her actual full name showed up in one of those spam posts of people trying to sell things on the site. It showed up repeatedly. She is known to be slick and nosey. I thought about it for a while and said to myself, man, eff her. She can bring it if she wants to.

So, it's not just about posting a picture. It's also about accessing this site at work. If you really care about anonymity, that's what you really should be afraid of. Use your phone if you must post at work. Other than that, not caring is freedom - living a life where you are your true self all the time, as much as it is appropriate. Be mindful of the policies of internet use at work. Don't make yourself vulnerable.

Other than that, I am accused of TMI in real life so, I try to be sympathetic to the fact that everybody don't want to know all that. I can't go around verbally ripping it raw all the time like an Aries with Mars in Gemini.

I have pics on a dating site awhile ago. But dxp is not a dating site, so I don't post pics..Mostly everyone on here has a bff or gff and is married. Probably thinking 30% are single just looking for astrology compatibility stories which is why I signed up awhile ago.. And the age group is wide spread half are under the age 25..,
