The man hates Manchester with a passion. Not sure whether he hates the team or the fans more but every Wednesday no matter the topic, he makes it his personal mission to throw shade at them.
So three weeks ago....the team that comes in last place each Wednesday gets on stage and picks the topic for the bonus round for next week. This time it was this nice British family and they had to pick any football team in the world. They picked Arsenal. His eyes just narrowed and he went "Arsenal, really? I mean you could've picked a proper football team like Chelsea..but ok." I just know at that point that come next week the bonus round with Arsenal questions is going to suck royally.
Next Wednesday rolls by and he's very cheerful which means we are all about to get screwed over. We get to the bonus round and let's just say that the team that picked Arsenal didn't get any question right. 8/10 were about Arsenal players' in the 70's, specifically what nationality each was. Out of the last 2, one was "According to the West Ham United anthem, what are they forever doing?"...and I knew that one because I am on the emo axis and these lyrics speak to me:
"I'm forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air,
They fly so high,
Nearly reach the sky,
Then like my dreams,
They fade and die."
He grades everyone's answers and announces that a Romanian team got this question right. He looked at us then proceeded to glide to our table beaming with joy.
"You're true football fans, aren't you? None of that Manchester overrated shit?"
The troll that is my Pisces friend goes "Oh yeah, Raluca is a huge West Ham United fan"
I didn't have it in my heart to tell him that the only reason I know that anthem is watching Green Street Hooligans. -.-
