It got that bad once when I was a kid in Iowa. We had no power for a week and my dad finally sent me out on horseback to the neighbors after 3 days of being in the house not knowing what the hell was going on (before cell phones). The snow was up to the horses chest in some of the more shallow areas but yeah it got deep. The neighbor had his tractor dug out so he "rescued" us. That was horrible. Good thing we had a wood burning stove at the time or we'd have froze!
