Explain this behavior to me...

Maybe I'm getting old - but I don't understand the need to post every detail of your life on social media?
Like do you have no real friends you can call or share this shit with?

Also, kids these days be posting the most inappropriate shit...and I'm not even talking about half-naked pictures. A friend of the family got into a car accident with her boyfriend I guess and in the past 4 hours has posted 4 different pictures of the two of them in the hospital - blood all over his face.

I have this other dude on my facebook that posts a minimum of 6 times a day...and it's the most mundane irrelevant shit I've ever read.

Today alone the posts start at 6 am:
"20 min till I have to get out of bed..."
"7300 in sales and counting!"
"nice and steady day today. feelin it"
(shares some retarded news story)
"admitted to the hospital. collapsed outside of work"
"stuck at the hospital all night"

No one even responds. No one cares. Why post this shit?!

I think he has mental problems. Idk, I met him maybe once back in high school...still not sure why I even accepted his request.

He has also broadcasted his engagement and breakup with this one girl...then announced he was dating this new girl within DAYS...posting multiple times a day about how he's never felt this way before, she's the one, he loves her so much, etc. Then announced he was moving in with the new girl within weeks...then engaged a few days later. Then broken up - multiple posts a day about what a horrible person she is and how the baby isn't his and he hopes she has an abortion. Now he's back with the original girl for the past 2-3 weeks and is "re-engaged"

I could delete him, but it's like a free soap opera

Haha. The younger ones... the shit that they post is just ridiculous. But if you think about it, social media has existed their entire life. That's all they understand is posting this crazy shit on social media. It's NORMAL to them, unlike the rest of us who existed just fine prior to the boom of social media in the last decade.

My friend's daughter posts like 57853234 posts every day of her face on Instagram, along with some random crap or a quote of sorts. She's like 13.

I've had a friend post pics of her friend who got into an accident, all hooked up to machines and tubes because this one in particular was in ICU on life support. I was like Jesus Christ, do you really think she wants the entire world to see her in that state? Get some effing class.

Another one posted her baby's first dirty diaper. Wasn't what was inside, but just the diaper and wads upon wads of baby wipes. Okay, nobody cares. Why are you posting this nonsense? :/

I'll admit, I have my days where I post random crap, but it's because I'm bored. Otherwise, it's just scrolling through the feeds, liking whatever, and commenting on whatever.

My understanding is the entire epidemic is based purely in narcissism. When you turn on the news, and on a daily basis, some celeb's life is being discussed, people think that this is normal to share similar info about their own lives.

My cancer relative also does this...but it's more depressing than schizophrenic...like she's not feeling well today, it rained, it's cold, she has a hang nail, her AC isn't working, she is getting tested for cancer, it's benign, etc.

I was at Lowes' garden center the other day and I'm trying to leave, and this lady has her herd of children all up in the way. She's not really making a move to get them out of the way because she's too busy trying to take a selfie with the flowers/plants behind her. ...omg you look like an idiot.

Btw, people, a pic of your face with some sort of inspirational quote, random attention seeking comment and the like- stupid. If you say "I'm having fun at a bbq" and your pic is nothing but your fucking face, it's retarded. I better see a grill, a pool, a plate of beans or ribs- SOMETHING else that indicates that you're doing what you're saying. Because your fugly face doesn't personify bbq!

I hardly even post anything on facebook, mostly just share a science thing or 2. Maybe a new song that sounds good. Basically I share what I think my people will check out. Also randomlly comment on other people's posts, joining in conversations and whatnot. Any new selfies I take are usually because something about my appearance is actually different. Maybe I'm wearing clothes I haven't gotten a picture of yet. Maybe I'm doing something new, etc. So it's more like facebook is... well a face profile, the exact thing it's supposed to be.

You ARE supposed to update it with things you think important and details about your life that have changed. That's the whole point to a flipping /face profile/. Some people just have too much drama going on constantly.

Or don't have enough and try too hard to make it seem otherwise.

...because that's all I saw in my news feed while I was on break, eating chicken strips haha.

Random post was random. I'll admit, I post random just to be random to see what kind of reaction I get when I'm bored, but apple chick in the lecture, I have a feeling she meant it more seriously...

I can get on board with stuff like this. Mostly because it's random and awesome. I'd gladly look at this type of thing on a daily basis than some inbred bitch's face who thinks she has to remind us what she looks like every day.

I don't post much.
