How are you now moon?

Re the reiki stuff...i use this every day, on my family, pets, clients and myself. I had a woman ask me for some healing. She had a fibroid (non malignant growth) in her womb and it had grown to the size of a large grapefruit. She was due to have surgery as the docs told her it would keep growing. I gave her three sessions of hands on and also sent absent healing with a photograph. Before she was due to have the op, she had a scan which showed the growth had shrunk to the size of a pea. Her surgeon asked her what she had been doing and she told him about the healing. He said to her that he had seen cases like that before, which were unexplainable. She had her wish come true and the surgery was cancelled. Keep going with it Moon ... the body has amazing healing powers, we just need to believe it.
Hugs xoxoxo

Still a little itchy, but not maddeningly so. The spots are still there, but not so livid and bright. The color has gone down so much. I teased my kids yesterday, and told them I'm turning into a leopard. Then my cousin sent me a pic of a guy covered head to toe in tattooed leopard spots, and he said, "this guy paid good money to look like that and you get to have it for free and you're trying to make it go away?!" Goof! I'm ignoring the tingles, because I know scratching encourages the allergic response. I've got the prednisone in the system and have to take that for a set amount of days. That should settle the last of this. It did the last time my body did something similar (2011?)

That's amazing how that woman's fibroid shrank and went away! I totally believe that the body has the ability to heal itself. Stress and other factors get things off course, and then it snowballs and we forget how to guide it back on course....thus the need for reiki and other forms of energy work. I really wish insurance would pay for alternative medicine practices. Maybe in 200 or so years, right? lol

I'm going to have the rreiki master who is working on me to teach me reiki, so I can be independent on this.

~hugs~

I've never had problems with lavender, but it does aid in photo-sensitivity, so be careful of using it on your skin. I use it more for the aromatherapy. I admit I have a serious love of lavender oil and am an addict! Lavender is also yum in food, a little sprig with rosemary and a lamb steak, lavender infused chevre goat cheese on bosc pear, or infused in a balsamic vinaigrette......MMM!

Chamomile is soothing to skin. I use it with an oatmeal and goat milk bath recipe. Calendula is another one, and that's up there with aloe. There's a great gel infused with calendula (link below).

That's my goal with reiki: for self and those around me, my loved ones. Here's a pic. I'm posting it here so those who are following the thread can see what the "butterfly mask" looks like with lupus. Not the pink cheeks, crossing over the nose, but the skin around eyes looks normal toned. Anyway, it's not rosacea, for those who might think they have it but didn't get diagnosed either way.

Thanks for the hugs, and the extra healing energy! They're needed and appreciated

Lavender can heal. It's antiseptic, but milder than tea tree in the healing properties. I use it on my throat and chest for colds, too. It helps! Especially with a heating pad. I have a sleep pillow filled with lavender and a couple shoulder shawl wraps that are filled with lavender and flax, and can be heated. HEAVEN!! I also make my own oil diffusers for home scents, and lavender is one of my go to oils. 😄

Thanks! You can use it for the reiki. It's fairly recent. I have Leo venus and Leo mercury. Meow!!

Yes, healing is a top priority! Oh, the ex was extra chatty last night when he called to talk to the kids. He saw me with the rash. Asked if I was still taking my lupus meds. I guarantee he wasn't asking out of genuine concern. He's been using my lupus against me since before I left him. He's done a ton of digging online for any connections between lupus and mental illness. His verbal tirades when together usually ran along the lines of how I'm "crazy", etc, even before the lupus diagnosis. Thus my getting a psychiatrist. Part of it was a move for my own mental well being for the healing process of having been married to him, and part of it is that she's capable of making a diagnosis on mental health, and therefore useful in court, should he ever pull that card on me (and his lawyer has hinted in that direction in court a few times). I've passed my psych tests, and I have my backside covered. Score for water sign thinking ahead! lol

I love melissa! But yes, not good on the skin. Rosemary perks me up, too, plus is great in food. I have a nice plant that I use. I need to get my hands on some lavendula augustifolia plants. All of the ones I had are in my garden with the ex. I'm basically starting from scratch on the gardening again. That was a soooo hard to walk away from! Oh well, a little patch of the planet is prettier from my efforts.

RAWR is right! I'll add a shake of the ol' mane to that, too. 😉

Yeah, he's as toxic as they get. Being away from him has been a life saver. I'm still working on getting everything back in balance, though. It's a process. I do think having the court stuff done and wrapped up will help, but I have to share kids with him, so he's never going to be completely out of my life. My goal is to fix myself and build up my barriers so he has almost no effect on me. As they say, Rome wasn't built in a day. lol

I also have an AI disease that is finally well controlled, although I knew not to see a western medical doctor from the start, after watching my mom suffer with the same disease until she started seeing a naturopath.

Also, once you develop one, you're more likely to develop more, so I really wanted to get aggressive with dealing with mine. A lot of people find a lot of success on the autoimmune paleo diet. I don't know how you feel about eating meat, but those who've done the diet for 30-90 days find a lot of benefit from the gut-healing.

I'm totally gluten free, but was tested for antibodies against gluten and other cross-reactive foods so I know what I can safely eat. Thankfully, corn and dairy are fine for me. No soy, processed foods, and I also have to supplement with several herbs and vitamins. It's expensive, but worth it. Lost 35 lbs and have enough energy to work a 50-60 hour week. Unheard of a year ago.

Wishing you good health and healing!

A naturopath is who to see for this? I'll have to look for one around here. I'm fine with eating meat, and love red meat! I looked up the autoimmune paleo diet. Makes sense. Did the naturopath do the tests for which foods were reactive? My drs haven't mentioned or offered any info like this, but I'm not surprised. It's like pulling teeth to get them to do more than push meds.

I have Hashimoto's (autoimmune disease.that causes hypothyroidism). I found a doctor who specializes in treating this particular disease, which isn't nearly as deadly as Lupus can be, but is more commonly either misdiagnosed and/or under treated.

Most autoimmune diseases stem from rampant, systemic inflammation, so often stopping the autoimmune attack means stopping the inflammatory response. Naturopaths who trained in well respected schools and who specialize in a particular discipline will have a better handle on it than western doctors, because they dig to find your personal triggers.

I think seeing one in conjunction with your medical doctor would.be wise. You may find that after a while, you might not need to rely so heavily on pharmaceutical therapies depending on how advanced your disease is. You may find that with the proper diet and supplements (and maybe some medications), you'll have way fewer flares.

Moon Artist, if you're interested in trying the diet, this may be a good resource for you. She also consults remotely if that is something you're interested.

Wow, that's a good site! Thanks! 😄

Hope it helps! I was really involved in a couple of thyroid groups the first year after diagnosis (2 years ago), and I'm very sympathetic to other AI sufferers out there. There is a real life after AI. Just gotta find the right people to help.

I really wish insurance companies would cover the alternatives just as readily as they'll cover traditional treatments. I'm hoping this helps, because I know there's more to it all than what western medicine has been saying about it, not to mention how they deal with it.
