While I may not be as present as in the past, I do miss the idle online chatter many of you have shared with me.

It is today, the 24th this year. It represents the feast and communion between the Indians and settlers after starving for so long. A year after they arrived. 1621. It is a time to gather and give thanks to God, your family, whatever you feel thankful for. To count your blessings.
Naturally, as the Imperialist Swine we are ( that's Yanks to you ) we've reduced it to a day of full on gluttony, football, beer, loosening of belts and midnight raids for more gluttony. Usually in the company of relatives you can't stand ( but thank goodness for the more crazed and real among them ) and boorish braying asses. Shite Jell-O salads..because Aunt May hasn't brought anything else since 1975..it's *tradition* and usually some uncle with a deviated septum spoiling your appetite. One and all can heave a sigh of relief then everything is in aluminum foil, they've bundled up to go home and you make the sign of the cross even if you aren't Catholic. After the tryptophans wear off, you think "HOLY SHIT! It's almost time for CHRISTMAS!"
