Things that drive you crazy at work!

Alright I had to post about this because its been about 2-3 days of this shit going on up here.

I work for a smaller company and the thing that I do not enjoy about it, is that there is so much gossip. Especially the two hens in the office over. Let's just say they are both no spring chickens. One is in her 60's the other I believe is in her late 40's. Ok I get that old women have like this need to gossip, but every single day I come in and they are whispering about god knows what. I can hear them just psst psst psst for almost hours. I want to go in there and be like seriously? For FUCKS sakes. One is a Pisces the other is a Libra. I get along with both rather well. The Pisces because Ive worked with her for 6 years. The Libra well because hey I have a Libra Rising/Moon. Pretty easy to get along with her, and she's very nice.

However the Pisces will talk so much shit about the Libra behind her back. I'm thinking wow and she's sharing all this information with you? The Libra when she first started here made references to how she hates interoffice gossip but is the biggest perpetrator. Ive worked here long enough to know to keep your mouth shut and keep a somewhat cheery disposition. Funny right? Since I am a Gemini, but I have learned to listen and pick up on things, rather than talking. I watch a lot of people go in and out of that office spewing their life events to them. Never, ever would I be that stupid.

I know that we all have to work to pay for shit but let me tell you right now make no mistake I am not here to be anyone's friend or let alone tell them about my skeletons in the closet. I am very friendly but there are some people up here I wouldn't converse with EVER outside of work. Especially a Cancer guy in the office over who pushes me to plot his demise, and this other ridiculous Taurus/Gemini female who likes to lug her self entitlement trophy around the office cause she thinks she's pretty. I really, really don't like her.

I guess what I am really trying to understand is why older women have this crazy need for gossip. I really wish I worked with more guys.

if you absolutely have to do it at work, clean up after yourself.

it's SOOOOOOO annoying. sometimes our restroom looks worse then a men's restroom at a dive bar. the poor cleaning woman is in there several times a day just to keep up.

You know what I don't get? I see people from like the 15th floor come down to our floor to use our bathroom. Seriously? I do NOT understand that. A lot of people apparently do that too.

Not only the bathrooms at my work but the kitchen...its disturbingly nasty! Nobody will clean out the microwave (despite the note on it...cause we all know how notes work lol) and its not like you don't know when your shit spills in there..come on now clean it up! Also when you get coffee and you know that what's left is not enough for a cup then make more...it literally takes 5 seconds to dump the coffee grounds put a new filter and coffee in and hit the damn button...I don't understand it at all and it drives me crazy!

When my co-workers text each other! I know they're talking about me.

Exactly the same scenario....I cannot stand it anymore!!!

Ladies...we all graduated from high school, junior high is over...and come on obviously if it was anything that was not about someone else it would be ok to say out loud and to everyone right??!!

What these people need is a taste of their own medicine, and you are so right its women around that age..although I am older and do not engage..

And the bad part is it could be about anyone in the office...and it makes everyone think,"Are they talking about me?" Very bad for morale and comradarie..if it was my dept I would put a stop to it by addressing it at the monthly meeting..

Which brings me to another office peeve...no one asks questions when prodded by the management at our meetings..we all just sit there out of fear.
Ugh it makes me sick....

Oh yea about the guys, def I agree so much easier to work with and work for.although male bosses can be bad too, I have worked for both and would take a male boss anyday...

+1 on the Passive aggressive behavior, usually in the form of those yellow sticky notes stuck everywhere.

If you're gonna poop at work, it's gotta be right after the cleaning lady is finished cleaning the place.

My company was large enough that no one really noticed my sprint to the bathroom once Blanca left the perimeter.

Oh, and masturbating there too.

- when coworkers leave notes in the staff log book saying something needs to be done. do it yourself, or shut up.
- passive-aggressive bullshit.
- when coworkers run around doing useless tasks while there is way more important stuff that needs to be taken care of.
- when i get back from my two days off, and all of the meds are low, and all of the files are a mess, and it seems like no one did anything while i was gone.

Stupid people bother the fuck out of me.

If you're retarded, excuse me, mentally challenged .. then you are pardoned .. but, if you have a couple functioning brain cells in there .. then don't act like a dumbass.

Also, what annoys me is there is usually an executive suite and then a standard suite. Can't everyone in the same workplace have the same quality of stuff, really??

And you know what is even funnier? Is that the awesome executive suite with all the toys, fifty inch monitor, seven hundred dollar chair and hand made one of a kind imported desk, NEVER get used by the executives! Why? Cause they are on the course golfing, jetting around on our raise money (even though the economy was bad and no one gets a raise) and drinking at their VIP office suites at NBA/NFL games.

It's actually the clients who give me the most issues at work. Most are great, but I work with a lot of wealthy people who think that having money entitles them to look down on other people and order them around.

Oh here is another one. I love it when people make their oatmeal in the microwave and it bursts all over on the inside and they walk away so it gets all dried and crusty. Or they wash out their bowl full of oatmeal bits and it gets all over the sink and in the drain and they don't bother to wash it out. EW!

Douchbags who *constantly* bitch about the boss. There's a reason why they are boss, and you are not.

Our HR person. She's right here in the office and periodically does visual "checks" (although she wouldn't know what to look for) to ensure everybody's doing their job, instead looking for tangible results, i.e. the actual work being done or not. Anyway, her inspections are ineffective 🙂

Customers that think they're the only ones in the place when obviously it's full. Of course I am there to serve, tis my job. But don't be a schmuck when you can see I'm swamped with tables. Another one. Don't open your mouth and tell me you need a few minutes, then get pissy two seconds later because I'm not hovering over your table like doom. You've allowed me a bit of a breather to touch base with others, get my bearings a bit. Let's not spoil the moment, shall we?

Haha! Heard a good one from my friend...she's a hostess at this really expensive restaurant here.
They were slammed on a Friday night...nothing unusual, it's literally a 20 minute wait minimum anywhere you go here on a Friday night.

This arrogant bastard walked in and looked around at all the people, including the 12 people or so waiting for a table and asked how long of a wait...she said, about 20 minutes. He gets all disgruntled and shouts "REALLY?! 20 minutes?!"
She's like ummmmmmmmm yep?
and he gives her this look of disgust before saying "fuck this place," and walks out.

Someone who eats 3/4 or more of their meal without complaint, then all of a sudden they want to see management to try to wriggle out of their bill. ERM! You've sat there for over a half an hour with nothing negative to say, so *.....................*
One table I had, this man was so strident up at the register over things that after he sailed off in kingly fashion with free meal certificates in hand a woman seated with him came back and apologized for his shoddy behavior. Plainly said: "He's an asshole like this wherever we go. I am so sorry. The server is fantastic ( moi ) and the food was fine."

I go back and forth between the two hip hop stations (Hot 97.1 and Power 105.1) so, if you worked on my floor, there would be no country music and, if you worked on one of the other floors, there would be NO music. 🙂 I HAVE to have music and, because I know what I'm doing, the people who matter (the higher ups) do not complain.

Now, if you don't like hip hop, then you'd have to go work on another floor!! 🙂
