Which celebs have you guys met before?

Did you feel that crazy rush of adrenaline on the inside like you see a lot of fans on tv having? Be honest lol

I remember the 1st time I heard Beyonce sing live. I got the chills! I wasn't like screaming and crying like a helpless groupie but there is a certain feeling you get when you're around someone that is so powerful and rich lol

I've always wondered something. I wonder if we see them wishing we were them, while they see us wishing they were us (living normal lives)? Hmm

I've met Gary busey, Janet Napolitano, Steve Nash, and Robbie Gould.

Gary busey, is a frickin' nut. But I like him. Awesome bomber jacket and was too much into the ice skating that was on tv.

Janet Napolitano, a stuck up self centered c***. Screw her and her diet Pepsi.

Steve Nash, he was so sad. He just sat there, with this look on his face like life sucked. His wife was there, ignoring him, talking on the phone in Spanish. I tried to pep him up (and shove booze in him) but he just looked at his admire and said that was a no go. Ouch. Heard they divorced. .. not surprised.

Robbie Gould, looove! He was in the news station for an interview, my buddy called me up and got me in to meet. Was awesome! GO BEARS!

No they dont wish to be us. Dumb question

Not true. I've heard celebrity interviews where they talk about wishing for their lives to go back to normal like it was before the fame. "Wishing to be us" is not about literally wishing to be the fan standing in front of them. It's more about them envying the perks of NOT being famous.

In fact, Beyonce spoke on this before. She said she's envious of non-famous people b/c they have no idea how we're so wrong about how glamorous & giddy celebrity life is. I wasn't surprised. She talked about how stressful it is to have to be perfect all the time, and that when she sees her fans being so open, so emotional or whatever they are, she wishes she could do the same. But she can't b/c she's got an "image" to uphold

Remember, not everybody who's famous actually wanted to be famous/celebrities. Some people are celebrities for bad things, not honorable/talented things

Wow interesting! It's always odd to see a celebrity not even trying to uphold their image. There's something disturbing and respectable about that at the same time. It's disturbing when you consider that pissing off your fans (those who make YOU money) is a bad move for your career. But there's something respectable about someone who doesn't pretend to be something they're not just b/c the media tried painting a different picture of them

I've met Danny Glover (he was very socially awkward. Shy. And wouldn't look anybody in the eyes. Almost seemed insecure or like he lacked confidence in himself)

I've met Beyonce (Love her too death but she's so rehearsed. She wears the "image is everything" philosophy on her shoulders. But considering I'm not obsessed with her, I would've appreciated the real Beyonce vs. the scripted version)

I've met Omarion back when he was apart of the boy group B2K. (Ugh he was so cocky and arrogant. But hey, he probably had every reason to be back then. He had some of the baddest women lusting over him. He could have any woman he wanted and he knew it. Back then, he was bringing in his first round of millions. Cockiness understood!).

I've met Britney Spears (Ummm she was....off lol)

I've met Barack Obama for a brief second. But who didn't? lol When he was campaigning before his presidency, he made it his mission to engage with his supporters on a personal level wherever he went. In my opinion, that made him more likable, which of course helped him in the voting polls)

I've met Judge Mathis (He's a cool kat! :-)

I've met Madonna. (Cockiest woman I've ever met. She wasn't arrogant in an "I can have anything I want" type of way. No, hers was more like, "I'm better than all of you" type of thing. Wasn't feeling her at all)

I met Russell Crowe once, his band was frontin' for the band I was actually there to see and they hung out in the crowd afterwards...
Nobody gave a shit.
He was pretty chilled.

I think celebs down under still have their privacy in many ways compared to in the US, oh yeh, and Megan Gales Sydney home is the house opposite mine. I never see her though, she works over seas and is based in Melbourne more now but I see her gardener and her mum sometimes lol does that count?

I served metallica when i used to work at this vegetarian restaurant in melbourne who know they were veggos they were really nice and signed the receipt??_??_I served a lot of other celebs there but they were mostly australian celebs that no one would know.

I was clubbing with Eva Simmons in the cross at the start of the year, my ex threw a party to promote vodka cruisers because he is in advertising "they were filming an ad" and she performed there. He brought me along and we had a wild time drinking her Jager and Bud "which tastes gross btw" and we took her out to this really cool hip hop club.

I've met majority of the aussie celeb scene. Even ones that have gone cold! It's usually either during or end of the shift after a concert or at rehearsal events. Most of them were actually really down to earth but it might just be the setting. Not a lot of fans just working professionals.

And now I know a few purely from attending Newtown performing arts and knowing people over at the other acting school + NIDA. Never occurred to me, or should I say I just don't get the whole worshiping and idolising.

The other week Xzibit came in the store and we made jokes upon jokes and inside jokes and he seems to have his humour intact!

Yes.

I used to work at a radio station-- and the ex did FOH & tour management.

But before that-- the first famous person I met was Lou Diamond Phillips.

His band (who knew?) was playing at the restaurant/bar where I was working.

I was like... 19-- LDP got a little drunk and I got an autograph (and a bear hug). 😄

OH and Neal Boortz, just a few years ago--

I got up early on a Saturday to go to his book signing and got to meet him.

FAIR TAX

heh —

I get though why people are infatuated with celebrities.

If they possess something that you (or a large mass of people want), there's something intriguing & stimulating about being in the presence of someone who's achieved that. Women & men do the same when they encounter people who are extremely physically attractive. There's a short term adrenaline rush. You can't help but to stare at them for longer than you would anybody else.

If you're addicted to money, of course you're going to die a little inside while standing next to Oprah to Bill Gates. If you're intrigued by anyone with excess musical talent, of course standing in the presence of 1 of the 'greats' will do something to you.

It's not about obsessing. It's about the chemicals in your brain naturally changing once you're in the presence of someone who possesses something that you have a lifelong dream of accomplishing & possessing for yourself. This works with love too. Adrenaline rushes when you're standing next to the person who represents all that you've ever wanted in a partner. It's the body's natural reaction to respect, admiration & pleasure =)

This is also the reason people even obsess over celebs who others feel got famous for all the wrong reasons. All that matters is that that particular celeb has a quality, a skill, brain power or the money that that specific fan wants for themselves. And people like/want a lot of irrational things lol Nothing new about that

Now the people who stalk celebs & sit outside on their doorsteps are taking the adrenaline thing too far!!! lol
