I wanted to see my friend who’s also my crush. Feelings have developed but we’re long distance for almost 2 years now. He made plans with me a couple weeks ago and told me to wait to confirm things because he’s a professional musician in a band. Anyways, got the bad news this morning that he has to cancel due to his local shows. Thankful he told me, but also crying because I truly wanted to see him. Idk whether to express my emotions or just be short to say, “thanks for letting me know” 😞💔

How could I be supportive and understanding while making him see this affects me?

Find the middle ground between the dry "thanks for letting me know" and the emotional explosion "why the fuck did you let me down, you pathetic clown, you!"

“Thanks for letting me know” was my first go to but it doesn’t feel satisfactory. Our plans keep changing because of the unpredictability of the industry.

I thought maybe instill a boundary that maybe he should check with his schedule first because it happened twice prior, but it would’ve been pointless if the industry wants him immediately at any time 🙃🥲

No, he offered to cover me to see him over there. We’ve hung out a few times before he moved and been close ever since

He supposedly said he was free for a week, had me help him look at flights(3 days) that we mutually agree with and then mentioned he’ll check for confirmation. The order of things just felt weird to me but I suppose it doesn’t matter if the industry is unpredictable where gig offers are immediate yes or no

I’d an LDR with a guy for almost 5 yrs …. We were both in Europe. We’d meet once or sometimes twice a month. He said to me that wild horses couldn’t keep him away from me.

If your guy wants you’ll know and not have to guess?

Here we go again.....

Dating scenarios across large bodies of water and continents apart are fantasies.

If you are going to be in a relationship with someone you need to see them, in person, at least once

or twice per month.

And the hits just keep on coming.

A person in that particular industry receives more offers from the opposite gender

over the course of two years than the average individual will receive in a lifetime. You are setting yourself up for a potentially painful experience.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭?

By placing a map of your community on a flat surface in front of you. Find the location of your home and place the pointed side of a compass directly on your residence. Draw a circle that extends out 75 miles. That's your dating zone.

Let the people living in Spain date people near their home "in Spain."

Capeesh?
