I think there are far to many in my country, living of the state because laws in the UK are to soft.
What are your thoughts?

50% of my property taxes (highest in the usa) covers these folks, and I have no say on the matter. If they didn't have any affect of what comes out of my pocket, I wouldn't care. So I believe I have a right to say GET THE F OUT OF MY COUNTRY or get a JOB. Anyone offended by that, send me tax money and pay my bills, I'll retract it.

Yes..the old days were great when boat loads of people came in to work, live and thrive in America. But today, when it's my hard earned money being controlled, taken & charitized for immigrants who do not work..yea, I have a big problem with that.

Well I live in Australia and being an immigrant myself, my views are definitely pro immigration.

That being said I've seen people here with no sense of wanting to contribute, go out of their way to segregate and try to force beliefs from their own country and culture with the Australian life style . I mean I get it, it's okay to be proud about your heritage but don't force it on anyone!

I can also understand not wanting to integrate, take Australia for example there's really no REAL sense of identity as a whole. I can't relate to being "Australian" at all. Say compared to the French or Italians, the difference is night and day. Being Laid back and putting another shrimp on the barbie is a romantic thought but nothing real to aspire to I don't think we just lack any real cultural heritage.

So taking that idea it's easy to understand why some people view immigration as a threat and as a way of preserving one's culture. I believe in multi-cuturalism as well but for it to exist there has to be mutual understanding and no matter how you dice it some people will always hate due to the differences.

immigrants definitely DO work in America.

That's why they come most of the time.
That's a really nasty stereotype that goes along with a few others that are actually much more accurate.

Who said they don't work? Sure they do..at minimum wage but for the most part as slaves and cash for a couple of dollars an hour by the rich off the books which entitles them to claim benefits. They come in here with a family of 5 kids, they are immediately granted benefits out of my and every tax payer's pockets in 18 states. It's not a nasty stereo type, until you pay taxes and support these illegals, I can understand seeing no harm.😢

August, 2012
On Monday, New York state officials announced that $ 450,000 in state funds will be provided to three advocacy groups to help thousands of illegal aliens apply for work permits under President Obama's executive order DREAM Act.

The taxpayer-funded grantswill reportedly fund clinics, workshops and various legal services to an estimated 80,000 illegal aliens across the state.

Of course, this is not the first time New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has spent taxpayers' funds on illegal aliens...

Feb., 2012
llegal immigration now costs taxpayers $ 113 billion a year.

A study released by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimates that illegal immigration now costs federal and local taxpayers $ 113 billion a year.

The report, The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on U.S. Taxpayers, is the most comprehensive analysis of how much the estimated 13 million illegal aliens and their U.S.-born children cost the federal, state and local governments.

The report also accounts for taxes paid by illegal aliens about $ 13 billion a year, resulting in a net cost to taxpayers of about $ 100 billion.

However, the study notes that government at all levels would likely have realized significantly greater revenues if jobs held by illegal aliens had been filled by legal U.S. residents instead.

Federal spending on illegal aliens amounts to $ 29 billion, finds Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on U.S. Taxpayers.

I don't mind paying for others' happiness and want for a better life. If they think they have more opportunities here and/or have more freedoms, then go ahead and try to raise your family to the fullest. I live in a pretty good country and that was by luck. I didn't choose it. So, I don't feel I should take away opportunities from those less lucky. Heck, even if you want to move here just because - go for it. I'm thinking of possibly emigrating one day, myself, so I understand to a degree. Money is just money, and there's more to life than that to me. If I can support myself and possible family, then that's good enough for me. If you can barely afford what you have, then that isn't my fault and you're entitled to your own opinion. But, this is mine.

Alot of articles and whatnot pulled from the web are from bogus super-self-righteous opinions (not facts) with the only intent being to perpetuate negative stereotypes to keep segregation alive and kicking.

+1 million...anyone who segregates for super self righteous opinions minus the facts are definitely the ones to point the finger at and should be held accountable for such hateful acts. It's a shame racism and segregation still exists in this world. It sucks!😢

Immigrants aren't always here illegally. That's two separate issues.

I don't know if I really have a solid opinion on immigration. I understand there has to be limitations, but I also think it is contradictory to everything our country was founded on to deny immigrants.

To those opposed, I just sincerely hope you are understand how blessed you are to have been born in a country where you have these opportunities, and that you don't find yourself in the position where you have to leave everything you know for simply a chance at even a fraction of the opportunity granted to those lucky enough to be born there.

good call.......people need to unlearn that money controls and dictates their beliefs....and relearn that your health and having a loving family is more than enough.....and to deny people is not your place as human being.....hopefully we learn and teach to always choose love over fear so that we overcome anything

70% of illegal aliens in Texas receive welfare
http://www.ihatethemedia.com/70-percent-of-illegal-aliens-in-texas-receive-welfare<BR>

That article is misleading and designed to perpetuate a negative perception. The study itself primarily focuses on households with children. Yes, illegals with children in the household do receive food stamps and medicaid at a higher percentage rate than native households, but not cash assistance or rent subsidies.

And contrary to something you said previously, the high percentage receiving such benefits is not due to an unwillingness to work, but low wages resulting from the lack of higher education. The vast majority (95.1 percent) of immigrant households with children had at least one worker. In fact, immigrant households with children are slightly more likely to have at least one worker than native-headed households with children (93.3 percent).

As a side note, the study also includes free/reduced school lunch programs in their calculation of who is utilizing welfare programs. If we want to use that measure, I know of some schools in which nearly 100% of the families would be classified as receiving welfare benefits (despite not receiving any assistance from those programs most commonly thought of as "welfare").

Are immigrants humans?

Then i support them trying to live better lives. Why should i be a selfish fuck? I dont know one family that can say that immigration is the reason they cant feed their families.
Are there some criminals that migrate. Sure. But if you check all the mass murderers and mass shooters, not one is an illegal alien.

Criminal elements come in all forms and walks of life. To even propose that immigration creates crime and poverty is being a ridiculous fuck.

It's getting hard to keep up with immigration news updates. Just last week, the White House's reform proposal was leaked—prompting Republican outrage over a lack of focus on border security. The White House responded that it was simply a backup plan and that President Obama reached out to GOP lawmakers working on their own immigration bill. Now that everyone in Capital Hill has made nice, Senator McCain, who has flip-flopped on immigration for years, found himself squabbling with anti-immigrant Arizona constituents.

The coming weeks promise more of the same between a White House that has already leaked its own plan, the Senate's Gang of Eight that is apparently still crafting one, a reluctant House that may stall any efforts at comprehensive reform, a visible and vocal undocumented population that's taking a seat at the table and advocates on all sides of the debate. Then, there's Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, whose Border Patrol agents garnered nearly one million dollars in cash, vacation time and Home Depot gift card incentives to target people for deportation—including many US citizens. ICE officials and agents tend to make their own rules, and Obama hasn't reined them in.

A lot gets lost between information requests and daily news splashes, so it's not surprising that there are still a lot of basic misconceptions when it comes to immigration and enforcement. Here's a quick list of things to keep in mind the next time you read anything about immigration:

1) Immigration is a civil—not criminal—issue.
The term —illegal immigrant?? isn't only offensive, but it wrongly suggests that undocumented immigrants are committing a crime by being in the United States. That's incorrect, because immigration is a civil issue. Any violation of immigration law is a civil violation, and as such, cannot be punished: As defined by the Supreme Court in Fong Yue Ting v. United States (1893), —The order of deportation is not a punishment for crime.??

2) The borders are already secure.
Net migration from Mexico to the United States is already at zero. And Border Patrol apprehensions of unauthorized crossers are down to levels not seen since 1971. Part of that has to do with the poor economy—but it also illustrates heightened enforcement at the border, including the use of new technologies. At least ten Predator drones patrol the borders, including one used at the Canadian border in North Dakota.

3) Deportation targets are at an historic high.
If the Obama administration continues to remove undocumented immigrants at its current rate, more than 2 million people will be deported by 2014. That's roughly the same amount of people who were deported between 1892 and 1997. While the administration claims that it targets undocumented immigrants who have been convicted of crimes, a major study released today reveals that nearly 80 percent of immigration detainers were placed on people who had no criminal record whatsoever. While detainers do not always result in deportations, they always have vast repercussions. Perhaps chief among them is the fact that because deportations proceedings are a civil matter, there is no right to due process—even for the more than 700 US citizens with no criminal record who found themselves with an immigration detainer between 2008 and 2012.

4) There's a revolving door between ICE and private prison corporations.
An information request revealed last week that ICE officials instructed agents to scour Department of Motor Vehicle databases for potential immigrants to detain. The request yielded several emails sent to and from David Venturella, who served as ICE??s assistant director between 2008 and 2012. During that time, the Center for Investigative Reporting explained that the private prison corporation, GEO Group, —pointed toward anticipated growth of federal detention, particularly immigrants.?? (You can read more about my visit to one such GEO Group facility last month

(You can read more about my visit to one such GEO Group facility last month here.) ICE??s Venturella appears in the same post, divulging that his agency would be requesting the construction of new detention centers. According to this LinkedIn profile, Venturella left his post at ICE to join the GEO Group in July.

5) Immigrants are good for the economy.
Economists on the left, right and center agree that immigrants benefit the economy. Undocumented immigrants contribute billions of dollars each year in sales, property and personal taxes. And while undocumented immigrants are ineligible for most welfare benefits, documented immigrants are far less likely to use benefits than non-immigrants.

If your country didn't colonize, killing their inhabitants by the Queen??s name and steal their treasure then those (immigrants) would still live in their own country/speak their own language and cultivate their culture and heading for the nicer future.

How come you guys weren't count as (immigrant) when you all swarm like bugs occupying their country, now you dare to complain..?

Karma is a bitch??_. You know??_.

Nature will always RESTORE its natural order of things and this is why the USA is changing. The Latin vote will only continue to increase as people like myself educate and explain that when we become the majority, we have to be responsible with that power, unlike, sorry--- the caucasians that setup a system that was supposed to enable them to succeed far past any other race but they started selling out and stealing from one another, increasing profits by shipping jobs overseas....and now people have the audacity to blame the immigrant—

Wake up fuckfaces....illegal aliens werent the ones giving other illegal aliens JOBS in this country all these centuries.
Why are 70% of all United States farmers latin— Could it be because all those years ago, someone gave them low low paying jobs, exploited them, made huge profits through government subsidies and like they always do, CASHED in, sold the farm and this is why latin farmers are the majority owners now in that industry.

How about the white man, who had all that power and ownership in this great country for centuries, take responsibilty for selling out and worrying only about themselves while fucking the voiceless.....guess what, THEY HAVE A VOICE NOW.
Just pray when the day comes, you arent on the other end of being exploited.

Introduce me to an unselfish and un-greedy human being, regardless of skin color and you have introduced me to a soul brother.

That's why I a bash North American culture, worldwide symbol of liberty and freedom becomes selfish/ignorant and arrogant nation right after WW2.

Their ancestors was immigrants and now they are complaining about immigrants same for the british assholes all came from the Middle East where now they are creating HELL there and complaining.

2 million deaths in Iraq and 6 million refugees since 2003, where do you think they migrating...?? and the fun part who do you think are complaining about their (migration)??_now, this is just an example of the Middle East add South America, East Asia on account too.

And freaking butt head Prince_Pisces gay fish fuck dare to put (its) opinion on this post too.

I wonder if you even know what your talking about?

Why would America turn down another taxpayer?

The issue is not immigration...

It's immigrating "ILLEGALLY" and getting payed money and not paying taxes on it. Circumventing it to another country.

How about doing everyone in here a favor and contributing something that is actually factual.
