I see no problem with it. My sister was breast feeding in public about 20 years back, she had something like a receiving blanket covering her and the baby - some elderly woman comes up to her, pulls the blanket off and tells her she has nothing to be ashamed of. It was a very laughable moment... the shear horror on my sisters face was to die for LOL

There have been a few incidents recently that I've heard about regarding mall security trying to kick women out of malls for breast feeding in public... it is unclear whether they were covered - security was saying that they were exposing themselves at least in one instance, so I'm guessing they weren't covered. Even so, given that it is not a sexual display people probably shouldn't fuss so much about it (some countries people are much more lenient and accepting of such). Personally, I'd want to cover up. When I had my son and was in college, I would leave the classroom and go to the restroom to feed him.

Why the hell not? There's nothing wrong with it. They are feeding their kids and where they do it shouldnt be an issue. Like some men, should they pee in public?

I don't think there's an issue overall. There's always been the debate on whether or not they should cover up.

I think the biggest issue is the women who seem to get off on it in some sort of sense. They're a little too into being able to whip it out and breast feed in public. This is the more extreme side- all militant about breast feeding in public, and I'd swear they get off on the idea of being able to do so. I get that there shouldn't be any issues with them breast feeding, covered or not, but unfortunately our society is very sexualized and you know there's some perv out there who wants to ogle. That's where the "anti" argument comes from."

You can't really argue how it's not a natural thing and women shouldn't be ashamed, but I'd get how it'd be almost "necessary" to cover up- some women aren't down to let everyone in the world see their breasts like that, and how others may be iffy because there are pervy weirdos out there.

And if there are women who don't give an eff and are comfortable, fine. However, I've always been disturbed by the militant types. Seems more attention whoring than a necessity with some...

I never really got why it's viewed as some form of public indecency. All I see is a caring mother feeding their baby. If I see anyone saying to cut it out I'd probably get a bit aggressive at them. Whatever someone wish to do is their business. I mean sure I can understand if a woman gets up on the table, strips naked and then shouts "HEY GUYS LOOK AT MY TIT I AM ABOUT TO FEED MY BABY" and parades wildly around but you know I haven't seen that yet.

Of course women should breastfeed anywhere they like........we live in a society that treats us more and more like tuppaware than a living being and I'm fucking sick of it......we are so much more than that as a species.....I would have a big problem if i saw a security guard telling a woman to leave a building for breastfeeding....for fucks sake were these people not breastfed when they were young?

As a man that cant or will never breast feed i have no opinion. So after saying that who am I to tell a mother she cant do something as natural as feeding their child.

I did when I was feeding my children. Most woman either have a blanket or something to throw over to make it discreet but if there is nothing available you'll find they lift there top rather than pull it down to have their breasts completely exposed. There aren't many out there that completely expose all...Do you really think they want people staring at them when they are performing a necessary task to quieten down their child?

And quite simple if you don't like it...DON'T Look!! It'a hardly offensive unless your mind's warped!

Only when the kid is a kid, and no longer a baby ... do I get offended

did you know that the only food a human can live off for the rest of its life is human breast milk?....it kind of makes sense to breastfeed a kid longer than usual because it takes the chore out of having to cook for it and it would be a pain in the ass for a fussy eater.......the ginger kid is so cute

I'm fine with it, and don't think she needs to be "discreet", either. Men have the green-light to go around flashing their boobs in public for no reason whatsoever, no matter how disgusting the appearance of said boobs.

Actually, female toplessness is legal in my state, and businesses get picketed for trying to infringe on a woman's legal right to breastfeed in public.

I'm not gonna lie...it would gross me out to see it while I'm eating, or especially while drinking anything with a straw.

But...I don't have to look. It's natural, and baby needs to eat.

Allow.

While I agree with just look away.... We all know not everyone will. And how far should you take this? Yes, men can be topless legally but are men allowed to eat at a restaurant topless, enter any gas station topless, roam the mall topless? And the arguement that it is natural is really not a good one because there are a lot of things that are natural that I'm sure none of use would want to have to see everyday. Wouldn't you mind if someone took a dump right in front of you at a restaurant? Oh yes we would but the baby is hungry and it is necessary.... Isn't the bowl movement necessary too?

I'm not trying to say I'm all opposed to it or anything BUT I don't see why women feel the need to have the right to do it just anywhere.... I don't have sex at a restaurant because it's natural do you?

If it's done discreetly and in places where it isn't likely to disturb the peace or anyone's lunch sure have at it and NO then it's not a big deal at all.
