For those who don't know the song I am talking about...

Not even Jamaicans know what he is saying.

What a coincidence, I get that same crowd reaction also!!!
But only when I'm leaving the bar.

Ahhh.. my forte at last! If you can sing THAT song (GREAT choice, btw!) and not get booed off the stage.. then you should be able to sing any of these as well ^_^
"I Don't Want This Night To End" - Luke Bryan
"Do I" - Luke Bryan
"All My Friends Say" - Luke Bryan
"Take My Drunk Ass Home" - Luke Bryan (hard to find, though!)
"Don't Make Me" - Blake Shelton
"Honey Bee" - Blake Shelton
"Somewhere With You" - Kenny Chesney
"More Than A Memory" - Garth Brooks
"Colder Weather" - Zac Brown Band
"Lover, Lover" - Jerrod Neimann
"What Do You Want" - Jerrod Neimann
"Why" - Jason Aldean
"My Kinda Party" - Jason Aldean
"Dirt Road Anthem" - Jason Aldean (if you've got a fast tongue)
"Settle For A Slowdown" - Dierks Bentley
"Trying To Stop Your Leaving" - Dierks Bentley
"Boots On" - Randy Houser
"You'll Think Of Me" - Keith Urban
And dude.. sing your woman a "typical karaoke love song".. trust me :p

That part came out wrong. I am a sucker for love songs but I've seen a lot of people do heartbreak sad love songs, I like those songs but think drinking and karaoke should just be more upbeat.
Thank you everyone for the suggestions so far. I like a few of them and need to get practicing. Keep them coming!
I had never heard Red Strokes before but like it. That's possible.
Bad Things was good, I think I could pull off something close, it's kind of deep for how I sing. Definitely have to slow down and learn that one.
The pretenderd, corrs, pete townshend aren't bad songs but I think they are too high for me, I'd crack.
I've thought about a few on your list too nefer, luke bryan is one of my current favorites. I can sing Do I pretty well and have been practicing Don't Want This Night To End just cause I like singing it. Same with Dirt Road Anthem, I know all the lyrics and can spit it fast enough to keep pace. I really like Settle For A Slow Down too.
Good stuff here everyone!
Oh oh oh, I almost forgot my current sing-along-dance-along-cuz-it's-just-a-feel-good-song.. "Woman Like You" by Lee Brice
Yeah I am just gonna have t come back to this thread one night when Aqua is working and everyone else is sleeping... then I can have a drink and start learning some more songs. I actually know most of the ones here.
Ya know, I don't sing in front of people but it was pretty fun. It may have something to do with the rather large amounts of liquor I have drank each time I sang... who knows?
oooo
Joe Nichols: Gimme That Girl just came on the radio. I really like and can sing that one too.

She gets me drunk very early on, just so she can call a taxi for me.

At least she got you drunk before she sent you home. Maybe you can take advantage of yourself. 😛
Stupid thing. I SAIIDDD...
So what songs have you been practicing in the last few days, Sid? Inquiring minds wanna know. 😉
I have been practicing a bunch of them. I think I am ready to do any of Dirt Road Anthem, Lover Lover, and/or My Kind of Party this weekend.
Update- I have done:
Dirt Road Anthem, and My Kind of Party by Jason Aldean.
Country Girl, I Don't Want This Night to End, and Do I (by request) by Luke Bryan.
Why Don't We Just Dance by Josh Turner.
My Aqua asked me to do either The Chair or Carrying Your Love With Me by George Straight. I may do the latter tonight.
It is really fun going out and having people come ask me if I am going to sing tonight when we first walk in. We talk to tons of people when we go out, one of the guys we chat with wants to sing with me. They said he is a little higher, so I'm thinking about a male duet too, just don't know what song.
Glutton for punishment.
Punishment??
I get cheered by beautiful women... if this is torture, chain me to the wall! ;p
Not enough tequila in the WORLD to get me up there for karaoke. 😛
Whatever. I have heard you sing. I'd sing with you anytime... if I wasn't mesmerized just watching that is.

I went out Friday with my brother and we dared each other to sing karaoke. We both did it and we both sucked. The biggest problem was that we couldn't be heard. I held the mic too far away. He was too chicken to try again but I watched some other people do it and watched how they held the mic and watched their faces and throats to see how hard they were singing. Then I took a shot, chased it with my jack and went up for another try. I did Luke Bryan: Country Girl Shake It For Me. I got several cheers and a few compliments when I finished. My brother is very critical and he even complimented me and said I should do more. Then Saturday I went out with my aqua. We had told her that we sang and she wanted to hear me. So after a few drinks I did it again. The crowd on Saturday is a bit bigger and so was the response. I'm not great or anything but evidently it made good karaoke.
Anyway, I would like some suggestions of similar (ish) songs that I could do. I prefer some up beat stuff as opposed to the typical karaoke love songs. It doesn't have to be country but I think I sing that better... softer voice stuff, I can't yell and can't hit real high stuff either. I am leaning to things like Garth Brroks, Toby Keith, Luke Bryan...
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
