This is something that I've noticed over the past few years. I was taught that a man should always smell nice. Of course, not all situations allow for or require you to wear cologne, but in general you should always go out smelling good. It is a way to leave a lasting impression and impact. What I've seen lately though is that guys have stopped wearing cologne and that women have more or less stopped wanting that. Is this true ladies? What are your thoughts/opinions and list some of your favorite fragrances for a man to wear.

I effing HATE cologne and perfumes. Makes me sick to my stomach. I prefer a fairly clean body but not necessarily freshly showered (though I won't complain!). Not too clean allows for the man's natural smell to come out and i'm not talking stank B.O.

What I hate with the younger generations these days is a total lack of bathing and/or use of deodorants whatsoever. I get we're all new wave hippies here but I use an all-natural deodorant/anti-perspirant and it works great! I'm loving my 30-something year old men!

I'm *very* big on this, and hygiene in general (6th House Stellium.)

- Moschino Uomo (*very* hard to get, but some places still stock it. Used to be exclusive to Holt Renfrew.)
- Jean-Paul Gaultier pour Homme (Le Male)
- Cuba Original
- D?claration, by Cartier

I won't really wear anything else, so long as most of those are available.

I also used to like Bvlgari pour Homme (original), and Paco Rabanne. Both good, but I'd choose Bulgari over Paco. Though I have a lot of good memories with the latter. Even better memories with Joop! (but I never liked that one personally - too strong and sweet.) Sexuale pour Homme was also a good one.

Obviously, a high-quality deodorant/anti-perspirant is a must. There are some really decent organic brands, but they need to be applied more liberally. Unfortunately, some of them give out too early.

Also, detoxification in general is recommended. What you put into your body eventually says Hi on the outside in various ways. So, a lot of loose-leaf green tea is recommended, as well as a "clean" diet.

Definitely with you on the clean diet and loose leaf green tea.

All the men I know and have dated wear/wore cologne/body spray. I love it when a man smells good. Just don't bathe in it. I shouldn't be able to smell you coming around the corner but just catch a whiff as you walk by. I always give the men in my life cologne as gifts. I myself love scents. I wear one everyday and I almost feel naked if I happen to leave the house without any on.

Since I'm a fragrance junkie, I have lots of favorites. Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier is nice. My ex Scorp wore Givency Pi. Whew, I'm telling you, that one is a panty dropper. Prepare to be accosted. Use it wisely 🙂.

I've had Givenchy Pi since it first came out years ago and it IS a panty dropper lol. Le Male is actually my next purchase.

Jeez thank the Universe it's not a "lost art"

with the men I've had the pleasure of crossing

paths with.

The panties will drop and I'll follow you around

like a little lost puppy if I catch whiff of a guy

wearing Banana Republic "Classic". My all time fav 🙂

.Hugo
.Polo Blue
.Ralph Lauren Polo Big Pony Orange #4
.Burberry Brit
.Acqua Di Gio

Thank you all for your input so far!

I have over 30 fragrances in my collection. Yes, I'm addicted. When I make a purchase, I get the body wash and after shave as well so I can layer the scent. I usually stick with the big names like Gucci, Prada, Versace, but I have a few unknowns like Antidote by Viktor and Rolf.

Signature Fragrances:

Gucci by Gucci
Gucci Guilty
Prada Infusion
Versace for Men(Blue color liquid)
Givenchy Pi
Dolce and Gabbana The One and a couple of others.

I tailor my cologne to what I'm wearing clothing wise. Jeans and a tee means sport fragrances. Going out whether on a date or not calls for something more...seductive lol. Regardless of what they think of me, at least they can't say I stink :p

I wish this thread was made before I bought my Uncle Cologne for Christmas. I bought him Hanae Mori(?) for men and Im not sure he liked it honestly. I was rushing and since I sometimes wear the one for women I figured his would smell just as nice. ah well.

Ive never paid much attention to cologne on men, but just two days ago I was on a shuttle bus and some guy was wearing a cologne that smelled so darn good it made me want to jump on the cutie sitting next to me lol. It smelled clean and very expensive...like walking into a Fendi store. I could definitely get used to a guy smelling like that on the regular.

I bought 4 bottles of perfume/cologne this christmas as gifts. Crazy because I dont have a collection, but I want to start one.

I think smelling good/clean is a lost art for some. I've whiffed some stinkers out on public transport. I just think for some people they aren't taking care of themselves or washing properly. That or they are not using any form of deodorant after bathing. How can I get on a bus 07:30 am and you??re absolutely steaming?! I??ve sat on the bus behind someone and seen a jungle of wax in the person??s ear??_.dying to meet a q-tip or ear bud :/ ??_some people are getting slack.

I actually use a net from Ghana to wash with??_it exfoliates and leaves me squeaky-clean and my skin smooth. I don't feel clean if I unless my wash is vigorous (Virgo asc)

Collection:

Perry Ellis - 360 degrees - Used to wear this all the time. Can't get it here in the UK.

Moschino - Cheap and Chic - Lovely evening fragrance. Cheap to get.

Chanel - Chanel - Very strong. Only need one spritz.

Diesel - Loverdose - Beautiful smell. Could wear all day, every day.

Diesel - Fuel for Life - Nice daytime smell. A guy once commented when I wore this.

D&G - #3: L?? Imperatrice — It's a you-either-love- it-or-hate-it-smell. Wore this during the summer.

Viktor and Rolf - Flowerbomb - This is by far the best fragrance I've ever owned. Expensive but worth every penny. Smells friggin lush.

Regulars: Armani Code, DKNY (green one), Alien (TM)...all bad boy fragrances.

'Golden Dust' - This is some new oil that I've switched to. Very strong so I only need a tip??_I always get comments when I wear this. When it mellows it smells even better and it stays on for the whole day. My new little obsession 🙂

My aqua always smells good and he is very meticulous with his cleaning routine. He used to wear Diesel (yummy) but he's now switched to something in a clear and purple bottle...not sure what it is but it's a panty-dropper. 😉

What about the guys? What are your favorite fragrances to smell on women? I'm looking for a new signature scent and I'd like some suggestions. Any ladies with a suggestion would be welcomed too.

Gucci Guilty for women definitely drives me nuts! (No pun intended...well maybe 😉 Another is Juicy Couture. One of my favorites! Angel by Thierry Mugler(I have the men's) and the classic Vikki's Secret scents. But he'll, store bought body washes make a woman smell good!
