u really wanna know?

historical/current racial propaganda. in countries where slavery existed and/or there was a subjugation of races, there was always a tendency by the group in power to set their women apart from the other group.

so in america for example, white women were regarded as "dainty" and unspoiled. whereas black women were regarded as subhuman and even one founding father referred to black women as baboons (jefferson).

what resulted was a negative association for white men when it comes to black women. a positive association for black men when it comes to white women.

over the years, it evolved from the "animal" persona to "combative." even a meek black woman will carry the weight of her historical persona and the darker she is, the more she's perceived to be combative. put halle berry and angela bassett head-to-head. examine the roles each has gotten over the course of their careers. the stereotypes live on.

in latina communities it's similar. you must have "hot, latin blood coursing through your veins." or the perception that latin men are seductive, cassanovas.

depending on the race/gender of a person, you can actually be on the winning/losing side of a stereotype. sometimes you're on both...black men have big dongs but they're lazy, ill-educated, dead beat dads.

overall, the stereotypes have to do with sex when it comes to men and temperament when it comes to women. asian women for example are supposed to be quiet doormats.

but when you look at what tiger wood's wife did to him when she found out he was cheating, it sorta does away with the notion of race based stereotypes. after all, black/latin women are supposed to be the ones to "bust the windows out your car."

i don't think AA meant anything by it though...although he's probably a closet neo-nazi here to recruit members for the NF.

oh, and the irony is that over the years, the stereotypes have become so ingrained that for the majority, no matter what their race/gender, they're no longer myth.

it's like telling a child from birth that they're a lil shit who won't amount to anything. where some children may overcome the abuse, most will succumb to it...some more than others.

whether it's race, gender, sexual orientation, societal perceptions rule. for example, why do some gay men act more effeminate than most women? why are some lesbians in this age uber-butch? the need for a man to be really womanly or a woman to overly manly in a gay union has historical contexts. but the historical contexts have evaporated and what we're left with is a prostituted form of what it means to be gay/lesbian.

was that offensive? look at it this way...

where did sagging pants begin? today guys have their pants damn near around their ankles. even in suburbs, you have kids sagging their jeans. why?

sagging began in prisons. male inmates who were raped (by men) or became the bitch of another man while in prison were forced to sag their pants as a means to humiliate them.

these bitches got out of prison, continued to sag their jeans and those goes on the street who had never been on the inside, perceived this as a sign that dude has his bona fides. in reality, they were emulating a bunch of bitches.

so the question is, when young men sag today, are they REALLY making fools of themselves or is it ok to recognize that the meaning of sagging has changed?

have work to do. lata.

Yeah, Zoe is off da' hook. I would shudder to think what people think I look like by my post, but if anybody thought I looked as f@cking hot as Zoe I would be damn happy! She's beautiful, sexy and hot...I would take it as a compliment, but that's just me though πŸ˜‰

usc, i think you're beautiful.

nonetheless, i've already told you all what celeb i favor πŸ˜›

πŸ™‚ Thanks Tubby. The person I got that I looked like a lot is this c-class actress. She was in the movie "Mo' Better Blues" as Denzel's love interest (not Spike Lee's sister but the other one). I think her name is Cynda Williams or something like that. She's older than me, but I got that a lot when I was younger that we looked a lot alike (I can see it, I just don't have that dimple in my chin like she does).

USC:

Wouldn't that be fantastic to look like her! She's lovely and a cute little actress. Thanks VB πŸ™‚ No use of you meeting or seeing me now, because you'd be sorely disappointed! LOL. I like the one you posted of the women cleaning w/the itty bitty apron ... and nothing else! That's a Taurus woman!
