Here's a different twist. Perhaps we're all assuming a one on one between dating partners. Under the friendly dating theme ("getting to know you"), a girl can go out with 1 to 3 guys, easily. It's not so easy Financially, for a guy to date 3 gals, and pick up the tab. Perhaps it makes it (partially) expedient to make up your mind on who you like.. but it's an uneven factor between the two genders. Does that make sense?
About makeup.. I like seeing a bit of it on women, it acts as a highlighter. As far as presenting a false view of things.. tell that to the animal kingdom.. where male birds have brilliant plummage versus plain females, etc. (It doesn't matter which animal sex it is.. )I bring it up to mention.. "it happens in nature" already.

Actually, I can see all of your points Espernaut. As far as makeup is concerned, I started being interesting in it at a really young age, I think ten or eleven, and have been wearing it since the age of fourteen, and I have always liked wearing it, it makes me feel more feminine, and I do *not* do it to attract guys. Hopefully what will make them attracted to me is my personality/brain, then looks, or even the other way around. But it certainly takes more than lipstick and eyeliner to attract a guy.

And yeah, I suppose if I lived on the beach it would make sense to not wear makeup. lol.
