what do you think our generation will be like or look like when we're in our 70-80s?

i wonder what's gonna happen to all the ppl who've had plastic surgery. no doubt there'll be a younger gen of plastic surgeons capitalizing on some revision work, but what's gonna happen to all those fake racks?

is plastic surgery ever going to look normal for our generation? that market will only continue trying to fine tune it, but our gen has definitely been the guinea pigs. based on what i've seen, it'll look like it in less than 50 yrs lololol

i've heard some old ladies and old men say some shit that would earn most others a slap across the face.

nice. good synopsis.

i'm just thinking of my own grandparents and how they carry themselves now. things were different when they were young adults as far as marrying age and when they were starting families. which in this case, i'm equating to when they mature in self-image as their focus shifts to others (their children) and away from themselves as individuals. this would put their appearance, fave pastimes and they way they present themselves as maturing in about the 1950s.

and so, for the sake of the discussion since it's easier??_ looking at fashion alone...

newsboy caps, argyle, high waisted pants/skirts, short hair style s for women, felted hats ??_all sounds like my grandparents now.

safe to say what we are like in our late 20s-early 30s is what we'll be like in 50 yrs or so?

i've always wondered, why the androgynous short hair? but it's making a lil more sense now.

i can say with some confidence that i'll still play the occasional video game when i'm 60 and listen to the select deep house mix. sherpa boots are too comfy??_ i may never let those go.

Don't forget about hearing loss from all the loud boom, boom, boom music!!

yea i can't argue with either of the above. on the bright side, there'll be more work available for doctors who can fix our broken bodies.

Gen X had a different path. This generation was not so idealistic. This generation is cynical, sarcastic, grew up with some pretty dim realities pretty early in life (I'm a proud member) This generation is the first one to get comfortable with computers. (I know that sounds funny) I remember being a kid and being sat in front of one of those old macs, like the black screen and green print...floppy disks...in contrast, my nephew was born with an instagram account and tweeted soon after he was born.

the magic of sitting in front of an old tube television linked to a computer displaying black & white teletype chartacters and thinking this was like star wars.
Or playing crude blocky games on an atari console while the cathodic tube was fucking up your eyesight.
Nowadays kids spend their time updating their social status and playing grind games but they're more like ants than dreamy kids.

in 50 years I will be almost 94..... if i'm still alive and kickin I hope to be jamming out to music full blast, dancing with a walker or cane if I have too! 😛

my bestfriend & I have plans to push each other helter, skelter, terrorizing everyone, through the halls of a old folks home in our wheelchairs!

Boomers: Born between 1946-1964
Gem X: Born between 1964-early 80s
Millennials: Born between early 80s-2000 (ish)

What interesting to notice right off the bat is that both Boomers and Millennials are a sizable portion of the population. Generation X, is by comparison much smaller. I was at a bar last night, with friends (other gen X'ers) and then all the younger people started to arrive... there was SO MANY OF THEM. Those are all the children of Boomers, skinny jeans, rimmed glasses and instagram accounts (I'm generalizing) They're basically going through the same cycle as previous generations but they're obviously going to be shaped by their greater environment, which will make them just a lil bit different.

When u look @ Boomers, when they were young, they were the hippies many of whom were rebelling against the cultural norms of the time. Protesting the war, protesting racism, doing lots of drugs, and fucking eachother. (those instagram pics would've been cool) They were basically rebelling against the rigid, plain white vanilla life that was the 1950s. Free love, fuck war and all that. As the generation progressed, that idealism faded away. Once they were adults (1980s) it was all about making that money (and coke, lots of coke) Again I'm generalizing. Now this generation is aging and beginning to retire. Demographers are still grappling with out social security will pay for their retirement since they're such a huge chunk of the population.

We're a smaller group, and still going through the process of making our way in society, I have a feeling we'll have to actually clean up alot of the mess left behind by Boomers.

Gen X'er here too and yes to all you said. We had a communication work shop recently at work.. to help boomers relate to the Millennials. it was pretty funny to see how much confusion they have relating to each other.

My friends and i have plans on having our grandchildren sneaking in alcohol to us!

I'm going to be one of those old ladies who wears a different scarf each day that matches her outfit and her handbag.

Twinsets and pearls too.

And too much perfume just because I can...
