My little sister was born with a cleft lip and palate. She has had MANY painful surgeries to correct this. She just turned 17 about a week ago and is a corp ballet member with a company in our hometown. She just received an email from one of head masters / ballet mistresses where her first name was saved as: 'Aryn Picklesnout'...
Her first name is 'Erin', but her last name is definitely NOT Picklesnout. Now I ask - am I over reacting, or were they just being ______—? Bitchy?
😐
Um... is it even remotely close to her last name?
Still-- no, you aren't over-reacting.
I would save it, and take it to the top regarding complaints.
I know dance can be competitive, but that is beyond the pale.
Fuck up on so many levels. you need to go above this person ( if it's possible) and bring it to their attention!!
I can only imagine how your sister feels over this 😢
I would not be analyzing or bitching about shit. It would be flat out anger and rage, against anyone involved.
If it was my little sister I might walk right up this head masters when ever I got the chance and I would put it right back in her face by introduce myself as Robyn Picklesnout, and wait for her reaction with great hostility.
I can't imagine any woman would do that to a 17 year old girl? Is English her first language?
This has to be a case of having "helpers" in the office? And if this was intentional whoever is responsible needs to be found out, and taken from any responsibility that lead to this happening. But yep, the dance world can be a very cruel one.
....wow.
Unbelievable. I'd be taking this to the media and doing everything in my power to destroy their reputation if that was my sister. (Assuming she'd let me)
Incredibly disgusting and unprofessional.
You should report her to her higher ups as that's so many grounds for lawsuits and the like. They don't want to deal with that shit.
