always have and still do kiss my mom on the lips....just a custom I suppose though I won't deny that most people I know in my culture are a little too close to their moms....its just a peck and I never thought anything of it though....will try not to feel too judged as half of dxp probably jacks off to incest porn....

I am Italian american....I know my grandparents came over from Calabria on my dad's side....I don't have a sister so not sure on father/daughter, but many (not all) of the women, particularly the older aunts etc. kiss me on the lips to greet at family functions....Its a little awkward, but like you don't have a choice...they like grab you by the back of the head and smash your face into there's "muah!"....some of them are so old I don't think they even have lips anymore....

that's just too much. they really are aggressive old ladies. wow.

well at least they love you and care for you alot/excited to see you.

sometimes i get overly excited when i see my little nephews and nieces i want to huggle and hold them but they want to run around and play. so i understand. but i am afraid if i'm an old lady....i dont want to do that to them. just hug and kiss on the cheek. (meaning when they are adults) it's so inappropriate.

Unfortunately, I am completely serious. My mom tried to argue with him about it but he wouldn't budge and she's not the type to prolong arguments.

jesus. i won't let that go.. omg. the house will be unrest until it gets resolved. probably why i can't do well with men who are abusive. cuase they are gonna beat me up since i'm very stubborn about issues that i feel are wrong.

in our culture here no one kisses anyone on the lips unless they are your girlfriend/boyfriend, or lover, or wife/husband.

so does that mean everyone is sexually frustrated?

My dad was almost never physically abusive, but he was definitely manipulative/verbally abusive. Still is. I have a very interesting family. And I'm the same way as you. I'm very, very stubborn and put my foot down when it comes to issues that I have strong opinions about, so I'm not suitable for a lot of men out there, lol. I might come off as alpha to some people, but there are some things that I absolutely refuse to let slide.

it's very very true that people /couples need to have the same values, or there's gonna be some fighting and abuse. =/= clash.

when it's harmoniously it's wonderful.

My mother puts up with him more than she enjoys him. The only redeeming quality I see in him with regards to how he treats my mom is that he's very, very protective of her.

well we can't really know their relationship cause what we see in our parents, we're kind of grossed out with. lol

but in their inner world it may be different.

he sounds like he will do what he wants, with not much respect to her.

I'm a mother, and I kiss my daughters on the lips and cheeks all the time. I even kissed their toes, feet, and hands when they were babies. I don't understand how this is gross, they're your child. They grew inside of me, I've cared for them, I love them with all of my heart, and I will kiss them on the lips until they are big. Those are some of the only actions I can do to exhibit my love and admiration for them.



A lot of people who think it's gross, don't have children of their own. So go on and continue to think the way you do. Parents will continue to kiss their children on the lips because they love them, that's just that. I don't care what anyone has to say about it.

Are you saying that because my parents didn't kiss me on the mouth they didn't love me?

yes, it usually is related to culture.

grossing out immediately as something sick by definition is similar to grossing out at breastfeeding in public. i don't mind if some women don't want to do it, hey it's not my business. same as kissing. being so vocal about it and calling it as something sexual is another thing. seeing lips, breast, vaginas as only as sex organs is ridiculous. we all went through some vagina (well most of us did). does that mean we were all sexually abused? just kidding now.

i just used that example cause some local famous gay activist posted proudly that he is a platinum gay since he came to this world by cesarean. not only a golden gay who never ever had sex with a woman.

i hate to say it but i will, there are alot of gay men out there that secretly really hate women. Not all,and i know there are alot that love their mothers and are close to the women in their family...

but gosh, that comment about not going through a vagina. smh.

oh i dont mind people breastfeeding in public, but most of them go into the bathroom where there is a section for babies to be breast fed and changing diapers. and most of them too put their milk into the bottle so they dont have to. it's very convenient that way. I think breast feeding in public is an old fashion way.

If we are going to speak of blame/accusatory tone, you needn't look further then the OP, let alone subsequent posts reflecting similar sentiment.

Speaking for myself, let it be known that Im not hurt by what's being said either way. However, it is to be expected that those with the mindset on the opposite side of the spectrum from the op will find those sentiments rather adversary and will speak up/against with equal measure.

That is not to say that I don't think/feel people these days are over sexualizing everything...whatever the root cause of such 'phenomenon' might be!
