I just burnt my lower half with hot cooking oil and screamed like a banshee doing it, do you think anyone in my house asked if I was ok or came to see if I was on fire or anything? I'm pissed off because my lower abdomen is in so much fucking pain and I'm gonna have scars up my waist so I'll look like I'll have stds on my waist, it's just a cherry on top when no one asks how you are,

I'll be alright I just got blisters popping up and I feel sick in my lower gut like I'm gonna spew, seriously though if you're in a situation like that and no one comes in my eyes I've been let down big time, I could be having a heart attack and I used to take comfort in the fact that if I called out someone would be there to resuscitate me, in this case I screamed like my life was in danger and no one came, it was only when I said "don't worry about me I'm fine" (sarcastically) did I get a reaction,

I know I'm being overly dramatic but I'm really concerned about living with two people and neither of them has a brain to go check to see if someone screaming needs assistance, rant over.

I though 3rd degree was the bad one

Oh Christ how did you got the hot oil poured on u in the first place, please go get it treated now, best if you could dip that skin in ice water so that the burn is not so serious. Get it treated now before it leaves scars.

Wow. Hope you got some medical attention since and that it's not as bad as it seemed. With regards to your roommates, worry about them later and focus on your injury for now. They're not worth it.

It's was actually my boyfriend and my mum that didn't come to my aid, I actually went o them both and told them that next time someone is in the kitchen,screaming it probably means they are on fire or dying and that you guys need to get off cross stitch and Facebook and help them out.

I went off at my boyfriend and he got defensive and said "what do you want me to do about it"? I didn't say anything to that because it wasn't the reaction I wanted, I wanted those cunts to make me feel good by feeling sorry for me and coming to my need, anyways when he gave me that reaction I wrote a post on here and on Facebook and I got heaps of messages asking if I was ok from pretty much everyone and that made my boyfriend feel like shit so he put up a post saying something along the lines of " I was always taught to look after myself blah blah blah etc" to which I responded make your own fucking eggs and tea in future!!!

Anyways he picked me up after rehearsals and we didn't talk all day and he asked to see my burns and I showed him and he cried because he didn't realise how bad they were it looks like I have black warts or moles on my bottom torso but they're blisters, anyways suddenly he's rushing to the garden and getting me aloe Vera and stuff when it's been a whole day since breakfast.

The truth is I'm not angry anymore we had a huge talk about it and the truth of the matter is I'm a drama queen and another thing is that my boyfriend does so much for me it's insane how much he does for me and the second he does something wrong that's all I think about and forget all the good he's done, it's something I recognise and am working on, we had amazing sex last night.

Yeah, you are a drama queen, dude. Get that shit under control.

If it's any consolation, I spilled hot grease down my hand and wrist-- it

took a minute, but the scars are faded and you can't even tell, anymore.

Bandage the hell out of it... think it's overdone?

It's not.

Soft gauze, a ton of neosporin (cream with painkiller), and wrap it all with

an ace bandage... if you don't deal with it now, it will scar.

And aspirin (not fkng tylenol) will take some of the sting out.

Try get essential oil of lavender.....it heals burns as does aloe vera

you were not being a drama queen at all. that was some serious business. it's scary to live with ppl who have no common sense. it may be a good idea to nag / train them on how to deal with emergencies and give them simple instructions step 1 to 10 to memorize.

Yeah, I know, but that shit is seriously NOT cool in dire situations, kinda like his burns. People like that are not ones you want around in an emergency situation, tbh. They end up being liabilities and problems.

...Maybe that's why nobody responded how he wanted. He's always overreacting so when shit gets real nobody responds...

My brother's a huge drama queen and half the time I ignore his freaking out because it's usually over something trivial and stupid. God forbid it be something serious. I wouldn't know when it's serious and when it's just overreacting.

...you say not to take medical advice on DXP but then proceed to give medical advice haha.

The worst advice in this threaad that I saw to date was ice water. People always think that using ice water on a burn helps it. Nope. COOL water is the key. Ice is too cold and can cause as much damage. The rule of thumb is stop the burning. Under cool, running water you go, depending on the severity of the burn.

...also no fucking butter, mustard, whatever the fuck else wive's tales. I get scurred when I hear peoples' responses in how to handle burns haha.
