I tend to dislike a strong Asian, Indian, or Spanish accent when they speak english, especially over the phone. I don't want to offend them but it's stressful as fuck because I can't understand what they are saying.

I tend to like British, Irish, Australian, and Russian accents.

i hate the british accent

I forgot to add that one, I also dislike that accent.. Almost as much as French 😛

Nooooooo... The British accent is awesome... The best... But I'm biased... Anyway, it's so varied depending on region so you can't lump us all in together.

My Mom watches Coronation Street religiously... it totally killed it for me! LOL

Which region?

all regions but most of all cambridge...it sounds so weird to me

All regions? You've actually been to all regions or at least heard ALL the regional accents spoken by a native speaker including all the dialects etc? If so, you then pick the city of Cambridge as the most hated accent... Jesus Christ!!

lol i still hate the british accent

period.

Meh... British is best!

Not a fan of those southern American, country type accents. It sounds retarded and they take half an hour just to get one damn sentence out. By that time I've already had two cups of tea...

😆 Liam Neeson is a boss, probably the only Gemini I like

are we just quoting people now tho? In that case, I change my answers:

So you're basically saying you like Russian on men because of Armie Hammer? I'm sorry for the wake-up call sweetie, but that doesn't count 😛

P.s. I can't find the "release the kraken" emoticon, this forum needs un upgrade.

Armie Hammer's Russian accent counts in my book!!!

Actually really interesting to see so many votes for the Russian accent. I do like it although I like most accents when they talk English especially Russian and Arabic, Spanish, even German is funny (love my German relatives).

Ha ha I'll leave the charm offensive to you Venusian Libra's! If I were born a fortnight earlier I might possess some Libra charm but all I got was a hot bed of Scorp shit, a fiery Sag rod up me arse, and a bucket of Pisces water to slosh about in!

You're biased! But you brought up an interesting argument, which is: the way we perceive someone it's always going to affect our judgment, whether we like a specific accent or not.

Scarlett Johansson really comes to rescue (well...I wish she were 😄) in this case. I genuinely think she has, if I had to be objective in terms of the actual sound of her voice, an awful accent (too manly), I really do, but guys she's Scarlett Johansson! So who cares, why bother? Every word coming out of her mouth it's going to sound sexy in the most primordial way. You put the same accent on an unattractive woman and there's zero chance you're getting a boner. Liam’s voice? Being a man I find it hilarious, but I think it would seriously sound creepy on most men who are not celebrities.
Therefore, I really think, as regards accents, we should put the look aside and take into account different criterions like rhythm, cadence, precision, musicality, roughness, sweetness, refinement and correlate them to gender and sometimes personality too, for instance Portuguese suits extroverted people better ecc…
Personally, on women, I like a syncopated accent with lots of pauses, even better if they’re hissing and whispering too, because your mind starts bouncing up and down like in a state of trance, it’s like hypnotherapy. On men I think it’s cooler to have a very clean, neat, linear voice.

Furthermore, on both genders my ideal accent would have to be polished, since I can’t deny I like that, when listening to someone, he/she sounds educated, even if this person is technically not, I pay them much more attention; then you’re definitely a God if you throw in some idiomatic expressions in a posh accent, which is why I think British is one of the few accent that really gives you an extra sprint regardless of your look, since any person can master it and still be sexy even if he/she is just mildly attractive.
Last thing I’ll say is that, exactly like signs and placements, some language/accent are more suited for men while others for women. For example Scottish or Irish are vibrant and charming languages for men but sound terribly on women (too rough). French is deliciously sexy on women, too feminine on men ecc…

I'm curious to know why women would consider sexy the Russian accent on men.

Manly.

Very

Russian/East-European is the "cleanest" accent to have. Every vowel and consonant pronounced with a surgical precision. On the downside it can get a little monotone-sounding.This guy rocks it with a vengeance though. Dat unwashed hair too 😄

Brilliant man.

Very original and unusual style of directing, humble personality, great sense of humor, I really admire him.

I love any kind of European accent. I think it's so hot.

Certain British accents are so annoying and horrid to listen to. Especially when they talk like old leprechauns. "I had to get me razor." And I despise the New York accent, it's so annoying and disgusting.

Ha ha! That might be the cockney/east London/Essex accent. It would sound more like 'I ad tah geh me rayzah'. It can be considered as rough or cheeky but kind of cute too on a guy.

Birmingham accent is one of the worst!

Thankfully, I have a very nice Home Counties accent but I can do a great London/Cockney accent Š

Yes!!!! I score EXTRA points for my posh British accent!! Although it's not quite as posh as the royal one!

Where you from, Palerio?

Italy.

He's quite popular over here as he often shows up as a guest on film reviews. Besides, if I recall correctly, he's a huge fan of Fellini so I think the love for our country is reciprocated.

Yeap, I believe he's said on numerous occasions that Fellini is what got him into filmmaking. I find him to be kinda full of himself though. He's got his own eco-village too, of which he is the self-proclaimed mayor - "no democracy, no elections" in his own words lol. An all-around controversial character.

He was really good in The Widow of Saint-Pierre. Wish he'd do more acting.
