Reverse racism doesn't exist. Racism is racism. Jesus so you think me and the few other people who don't believe it exists are annoying? 😐

I could not agree more then with this. The other one above as well... Reverse still actually states there is a divide... like there is a difference. This is actually worse. Discrimination is what it is when directed at any person. Sayings racism... actually makes it about that... In reality there is no such thing because humans are more likely to be the same if they live in the same weather, elevations, and so on. Race is skin... it is such a minor part of our make up. yes over thousands of years our skin can change biologically though genes... However other parts of our bodies are more likely to change to the climate sooner. Again it is one of the worst ways to look at people and say they are different. Simple minded people use only there eyes to judge people... even more so when they base how they judge on other people previous judgements.

I still believe there's no such thing as reverse racism. Racism itself may as well be discrimination but there's no such thing as reverse. If there was, how would it even work? I throw something racist at someone but they turn the remark back around at me and made it look like I discriminated myself? No.

There's no such thing as reverse racism because racism is racism regardless of race.

In fact, it's racist as fuck to assume that racism only applies to everyone but white people.

Yep... and I think that's essentially what

the OP was getting at-- it's all racism.

I hope so. Because her post was how she thinks that reverse racism exists, when the term itself is grossly misused and incorrect because it DOESN'T exist.

Racism exists though and it's alive and well, sadly. I just think it's sad that people out there think racism only applies to specific races and not others. Ages ago, some batshit, militant individual who I knew was convinced that racism only applied to anyone who wasn't white because racism = "privilege + power." That white people will never experience racism because their race is the privileged one.

....I get it to an extent, most white people won't understand what it's like to have anyone be racist against them, but it doesn't mean that they aren't "allowed" to even remotely experience it because they're white.

...ever live in still backwoods areas of the south where race is still a heavy issue? Ever have a black bus driver play favorites to the black kids and treat the white ones like shit? Ever been refused service from a black person because you were a "white African?" (a coach of mine)

That shit happens. Not as prevalent as others, but it DOES happen. If anything, that bs is just as effed up as whites being dicks toward minorities- assuming you can say and do what you want to someone else because they're the "privileged" race and are of the same color as some old white guys who keep prejudices going. :/

Everyone just needs to calm the fuck down and eat some cookies.

It's not only about race: apparently there is a lot of "heterophobia" among gays and man-hatred from women as well (I mean even domestic violence) but firstly it is not reported by the mainstream media because it does not fit their agenda and secondly I suppose it would be all right anyway because it is against white people/straight people/men. I am 56 years old now and when I was a kid OK maybe white straight men ruled the world or something and others may have been marginalised (though it wasn't such a good time to be a kid as adults were so heavy-handed back then). These days everything has been turned on its head by the mainstream media so that now it is supposed to be shameful to be white, male and straight (as I happen to be). But even if there was oppression of black people 50 years ago or whatever that doesn't mean it's OK to attack random white people now: two wrongs do not make a right.

People who think reverse racism does not exist are annoying.

How, exactly, is this irritating? IMO if one disagrees it's fairly easy to shrug off & go about your day.

You can't make fun at Becky at Starbucks and tell me that's not racist...

Yes I can. Becky & her pumpkin spice latte only exist in U.S. culture. White people elsewhere in the world do not meet that stereotype profile. So no, Becky is not a victim of reverse racism. People likely mock her because she's an archetypal representative of Westernized consumerist culture--not simply because Becky MAY be white.

I see where you're coming from with the consumer culture thing but it's not. Starbucks is common in white stereotype jokes. You've never seen a black comic impersonate a white guy simply by talking nasally and mentioning starbucks?

It just boggles my mind of the volume of people who are so wrapped up in racism that it is in their thoughts enough to feel compelled to talk about all the time.

In my social circle, and family, race or any/all kinds of racial issues aren't even thought about. It has to be brought to our attention.

You are what you think.

If you really wanted to make the world better, then you would be the change by changing your thoughts.

It appears to me that people would rather linger in what they don't want, instead.
