They fucking creep me out. I hate them. 😢 Most despicable creatures ever created
I would rather a spider....

The other day I was walking out the front door at night, and one was trying to run in the house I guess and it ran onto my foot. I fucking lost my mind. I was crying for nearly 15 minutes. I have never felt so violated & pissed off....

Anyone have this irrational hatred for these insects? Or is it just me?

If I ever got touched by one I'd have to kill myself.

The feeling of those hairy legs on my skin would haunt me forever.

I would cry too. No joke. I am scared sh**less of those little freaks.

They move so f**king fast - so f**king fast! - they're the colour of poop and if riled up proper they spread their wings and fly (that's when things get really f**ked up).

Even seeing the dead ones on their back is enough to send me bombing the room with insecticide.

Bri: You just need to look at them from a different perspective:

Think about their utility in the world from an ecological stand point, they eat everything and anything which is why they have been around forever and will always exist... and, even if you keep your house meticulous, they will live off the dead skin that your body sloughs off daily. Nature's maids if you will, they're just cleaning up...

How big do they get in FL, Bri?

I saw some pretty epic cockroaches when I was traveling in South America. They were almost the size of my hand, and they would charge at you if you cornered them.

:/

And I'm not even joking or exaggerating.

That's fucked up. 😢

They get close to that big here. But not quite as big as the Tropical ones.
I've seen them about as big as maybe 2 1/2, 3 inches long. They made a thud when they jumped :/ :/ :/

palmetto bugs or german roaches?

palmettos are just freakin creepy. i hate when you hear that sound and you know that one is in the room. it means it's either flying or it's rummaging through something.

EEKS!

the weather at my old spot was so amazing. i always left the patio door open so palmettos, frogs, lizards...always found dead critters in the most random places but it's whatever...the price you pay for great weather.

palmetto bugs dont breed dude. they're like having flies in your house. you could spray them with hairspray or cologne and they die. if they flip on their back, they're done for.

german roaches are the nasty roaches. they carry salmonella and other germs. they're the roaches that can hold their breath underwater for a hour and live through a nuclear holocaust. you don't want them and if you see them in someone's house, "no, i would not like a piece of your roach cake but thank you."

why do i know so much? when i first moved to my locale years back, my first apartment was AWESOME and i remember waking up one morning to see one of them huge fuckers flying across the room. sounds like a mini-helicopter.

the exterminator came and explained it all. they had just put mulch down on the grounds and the palmetto bugs are attracted to it. they're attracted to dead organic material and water. so if you found one outside your door, it's probably because you have dead plant matter or something. it's really not that serious.

the point is, they're not bad. if you have the little roaches, you're fucking dirty and nasty. your house is infested because there never is just one and you so totally should invest in a house tent and bomb them fuckers.

Moved into a new apartment & there were roaches EVERYWHERE! In the drawers, dropping from the ceiling and yes, even IN the refrigerator. Never knew they could actually be in your fridge. Slept with the lights on but it didn't phase them at all. The idiots living around me were leaving cat food outside for stray cats. Guess what else it attracts. The owner did nothing about it so I broke my lease & left before the month was up. Ruined my credit but I did not care one bit.

Hate bugs. Thankfully we don't really get roaches much where I live. We do get these things called clegs though, they live in long grass in fields (which we have tons of) and they attach themselves to you and then bury into your skin and live off your blood. You have to actually burn them out too.

I f*cking hate them.

No f**king way! You're lying! That's almost as bad as roaches!

Roach drama:

Last night...walked into the Libra's house...HUGE fucking palmetto bug on the wall. I
t was so big, it wasn't even scared of me. :/ I was trying to be quiet so it didn't catch on that I saw it.

The Libra saw it finally and was like whispering (haha) "it's Splinter! I've been trying to kill that thing for weeks...keeps getting away."

So, he grabbed his shoe and killed it...thing never even tried to run this time. Left a gooey mess on the wall. I was gagging and crying. Lol 😢
