Why Destin?

I love Pensacola beach ... but, really there's nothing in Destin.

Usually, we make plans. We've gone to some really spectacular places and had so much fun. But, this year we can't really make plans, we can't really leave.

I've been having some serious complications from the chemo and have to report into the cancer center and my oncologist several times a week (one of those visits is for the chemo treatment).

So, if we go anywhere, it can't be far away.

Sounds like you're going to have a few nice get-aways though 🙂

Destin is nice! Staying in a fully loaded condo. I don't care for overly crowded places when I go on vacation. I like to be able to actually relax and just destress from this crazy thing called life.

The Jellystone park happens every year since the kids were born.

Looking at adding to my sunburn in Spain and California. Of course, float down the Guadalupe River in God's country. 😄
Damn straight bro! As a matter of fact, I'll be in Greune the weekend of June 10th to do just that!
I'll be sure to pack extra beer if I see ya out there! 😄

Just hit my up man. Going to eat at The Gristmill then hit Greune Hall for a concert on Saturday. Floating the river during the day

It is impossible for any summer getaways in my house. My son got his first job at a water park and my other son has sports. Spring basketball ends in June and summer league picks up in early July. Football workouts start right after the fourth and 7v7 league starts mid month plus sports camps. There is maybe a 2 day window where we can travel. Last year I took them to Niagara Falls, maybe we will do the same.

My only tip is to stay on the Canadian side of possible. There is a lot more to do and less ghetto.

Croatia for vacation, as many weekend getaways as possible, either alpine variety or just going to the coast in my own country (it's like 40 min away if you floor it-and i do), buddy has a weekend retreat in the wine province too, so gonna go there probably as well.

Maybe the three of us will go to Gardaland as well LMAO, 3 idiots of 30+ yo in a theme park. Killa weed and that looping train sounds legit.

That sounds fun actually!

Going to Nashville next weekend for a little baecation

Gonna do some scalloping and lobstering in July

Then I don't have much else planned until my bachelorette in November
Is that like when hilljacks stick their arms down underwater holes to grab catfish or something?
It's called noodling
Yeah I just wasn't sure if she knew what noodling was.

?

??

Scalloping you do in really shallow water, usually brackish, and you just swim around the collect them (they're big clams basically) not much to it

Lobstering is a lot of drama imo

They're harder to find - live under rocks and shit- they're quick and aggressive - but you catch them with a net or a noose. They look bigger than they are and the majority you catch don't make the limit.

But we lobster in the FL keys so it's paradise and I shouldn't complain

working at home this summer to downsize and remodel the downstairs of my house into an apartment that will pay my mortgage monthly once rented

also, we can't take off from work over the summer because they are implementing a huge system - we are working on finishing our training and then we have to be here to handle things and work the kinks out - gheesh

bummer but I'm working hard with the above so that I will be more flush to do more fun things in the future

Not sure I just remember we were down in Islamorada when the during stone crab season and it's a big deal. Supposedly they catch the crab and remove the big claw they have then throw them back since the claw regenerates.

There was a stone crab festival on Key Largo on the day we left and the virgo was trying to get me entered into the key lime pie eating contest ?

That's where our house is! In Tavernier actually in between key largo and Islamorada

Haha I prefer lemon meringue myself

You can...it's not that great unless you smoke it like whitefish, though.

The upper keys have the best diving/snorkeling imho and I think crabs are better up there than the lower keys but I've heard there's way better lobstering in the lower keys

When I my dad did Big Pine last year he made limit everyday ...plus that's where the cute little doggy sized deer are
