- we chill and don't be wilin

- don't smoke

- worry-less

- stress-less

- pump iron and exercise

I tend to notice there's not many folks in today's generation don't work out. Why is that? Is it because you guys are lazy to take time for the gym? And don't hand me that excuse talkin bout "I work 10 hrs per day and such and such". I held down 3 jobs in my days and come home to cook and clean and still squeeze time for working out at the gym. What gives, youngins?

I swear I wasn't gonna make this thread but somehow along the way had a change of heart. I was extremely hesitant to make this thread and hit the create topic button.

Lol I'm guessing the reason too many people have deep nasolabial folds and deep fine lines on their faces is because they stress themselves thin. I have nasolabial folds too I'm not gonna sit here and lie but it's not as bad. I only see one slight line on both side of my mouth. My only issue is the silver hair. And I wanna say that come from aging.

When I was a kid in the 80s and 90s the adults dressed different. dress clothes, suits and stuff. I wear jogging pants or Dickies or shorts maybe jeans pretty much every day. No way is my outlook on working a job like boomers. They were (generally) completely different. About as far as can be for two back to back generations. I still dress (and live) like the 70-90s era but in todays time. Looser clothes but not too loose like the early 2000s but I never got into tight clothes not my generation. I dont do the stuff that stresses out the younger generations. A big part is remembering 70s-90s days its really way more simple and chill.

I remember when I was a child in the 70s all the adults were sportin bell bottoms and those hard shoes with thick heels about 6 inches high. Glad I wasn't an adult at that time. And my dad used to make me wear rodeo clothes to school in the early 80s. That's just as bad as bell bottoms only difference being rodeo cowboy boots.

But it’s true no one said they were aging gracefully 🤣

I didn’t realize they are the Karen gen until you mentioned it. Makes sense!

Lol yea, the Karens are 40-50s, definitely too old for millennial and too young for boomer

Yeah you right on one thing. The Karen gen thing. We got quite a few Karen's run in our genes. I think gemitati being one of them.

Age wise, that's kind of a toss up. You might run across some ageful ones with deep nasolabial folds and rough looking facial skin. That's mainly because those are the lazy types that never took good care of themselves or just completely let themselves go. If you are referring to the infamous mullet haircut not doing any favors I got news for you. It's making a comeback.

Gen X is the anomaly generation (thats why they called us Gen X completely different from any other gen) they may have tried to figure it out but soon realized they couldnt. Still to this day it throws people off because there is no one type of Gen X impossible to generalize thats like the whole "defining" chatracteristic. I saw something that relates to this topic though it was like "Gen X were 30 at 10 years old and still 30 at 50 years old" haha.

I am a Gen-Xer and I have a two Gen -Zs. One is borderline millennial, the first year or so of Gen-Z.

My boomer mom (which I don't know if black people can be called boomers because of the struggle) and she had three Gen X-ers and fucked around 11/12 years later to have two millennials. I was like 12 and very angry like what the fuck are you doing woman, lol. After a while, I just laughed on the inside of the hell the millennials were going to bring to her. You had three uber-independent Gen -Xers that raised themselves (when you were oh so busy) and now her ass is old and out of the little practice she had... I said, I'll be damned if she thinks I'm helping her with this shit. I think that's why she dipped when I was 17, lol.

They complain about not being taught anything. My millennial brothers look like they are the same age of us older Gen-Xers. They were continuously trying to crawl back in her uterus... and, I laugh and say that to her today. The one thing about millennials that have me baffled was that they were so late to leave home. I guess the subprime housing crash and subsequent stock market crash of the 2007s scared them. The boomers decided they couldn't retire yet and kept jobs from millennials. And, if they had left home, they came back. It was like a vicious cycle with millennials and boomers - two very large populations fighting for jobs. Gen-X is still the smallest generation ever. But, there were millennial super stars that were reported to be still living at home like Chance the Rapper.

Millennials entering the workplace was a shock to all. The sense of entitlement was the shock of the new and as a Gen-Xer, I sat back and watched Boomers being faced with HR complaints on the tiniest offense and laughed as it all played out. It was a good show. I think boomers actually became scared of millennials after a while - good checks n' balances all around.

Gemitati is a borderline boomer/X-er and I don't believe she was honest about her age or she just looked that damn bad from weightless and gain. Extreme weight loss and or gain ages most.

Karen haircut aye. There's quite a few Karen's right here on this site who has no Karen cut, at least I don't think. I'd have to look it up for real. And I know at least one dxper since gemitati left who's a big tyme Karen without a doubt and she indeed showed her true colors. I wonder why these Karen's has to take things so serious all the time and get mad and cuss you out like a rabid dog? Like damn man chill the fuck out. This thread is not really a serious one. Though it kinda is but not really to take at heart. You should know me by now. I like to play and have some fun. I didn't say what I said to intentionally hurt anyone here with nasolabial folds on their faces cus let's face it, I got nasolabial folds too.

There's been "Karen" since "Leave It to Beaver," "Bewitched." Gen X just gave these women a name (as is the snarky whips of our time). The "haircut" was originally a part of the "I date a black guy" "starter pack" so I don't know how it became associated with these women. We all know there's no haircut for a Karen and that particular haircut is out of style . Karens are the president of the home-owner's association, the parent/teacher associations, and neighborhood watch...

If I recall correctly, it was a bit younger than myself. And, I came online one day and saw the photo you posted and was shocked beyond my imagination. I never figured she looked that bad. But, that's what happens when you say you are younger than you are. She looked like someone in their late 60's.

But, my mom is near 70 and doesn't look that bad.

How did you find out?

Yep, that's the boomer/X-er cusp.

Being extremely overweight/underweight really does age people.... and so does repeated extreme weight loss and gain.

Yeah her too but I don't know if she's still around though. So in my mind she's not one of the current ones as of this update. The latest up to date Karen is emhendo. I can't never recall her ever being happy and cheerful. Always so mean and grumpy. That can put age on you too.

I first saw it in the meme “The I-want-to-speak-to-the-manager haircut”. Unfortunately as a person who worked customer service for many many years, I can confirm that the Karen archetype is a very real person who is walking among us

While the Karen haircut is definitely gross and outdated, I still see it popular amongst 40-50s women. I think the internet has properly and rightfully shamed Karens to the point that behavior is now seen widely as unacceptable

I think there’s a few Karens-by-behavior here but don’t know about age. But I think DXP is mostly populated by millennials with some Gen x’er sprinkled in like you, Venus Aquarius, hydorah. I think most of the Scorpios who left were all gen X. Idk if ands is millennial or gen x. There’s actually very few gen z here which is kind of strange since I think most of us joined when we were that young, vulnerable age of asking for Astro love advice~

Gen X- latch key kid generation. Had to be independent because their boomer parents were busy

Millenial- Everyone gets a trophy generation. Didn't grow up with social media, but grew up being told "you're special and you can be anything you want to be."

Gen Z- The "like generation". Grew up with social media and a lot of external validation. Never knew life before the internet. Thinks they are an expert on everything because of Google.

Do you think the “everyone gets a trophy” mentality from millennials (not sure if the trophies are orchestrated by the boomer adults/parents or a millennial “need”) became a catalyst for the constant need for superficial/external validation/attention of gen z? Or are the 2 unrelated? I think it’s interesting because both have a theme of entitlement going on, in different ways. A trophy I interpret as an internal validation and acknowledgment vs likes, subs, filters, engagement on content, etc as external validation.

Yea Gen X is a very nostalgic generation, they grew up in the 80s and 90s, which are very highly regarded in just about every way… the simplicity of life, music, movies, fashion, pop culture in general. When those trends are constantly boomeranging back, it’s nice to think about easier and better times. I get it

I'm not one of those middle-agers that likes to act like everything was easier better. I'm gonna tell you straight -up. When the world-wide-web was created, that was the best thing ever. And around 1998 people started posting jobs on the internet.

Can you imagine all of your job applications via in-person filling-out of paper applications?

I was about 21 - 24ish and was thanking God. Finally, seeing and applying for any job in my city, state, US and now the world.... being able to simply type an application, tweak a resume, and attach. You can apply for 100 jobs in one day. You could find a job, apply for an apartment, and all that in another state and be on your way in a matter of 60 days.

I was finally aware of all the many jobs available in one convenient place. It boosted my earning potential exponentially. That's why now when people talk about financial problems, I eyeroll. They would be really bad-off if they lived pre - internet days. I internet helped me play the statistics and apply for every and anything. I got hooked and would never stop looking and applying even if I like the job I had, I would keeping looking for even just a dollar more. I just stopped looking, lol as I am very, very happy where I am and hit six figures 10 years ago... well over now.

No I’m referring to the Karen haircut!!! Look it up, it’s a thing. Lol Gemithotty being a Karen.
Ageful ones with deep nasolabial folds and rough looking facial skin I CANNOT 💀💀💀💀💀 I feel so bad for people with actual nasolabial folds getting absolutely dragged on this site

😂😂😂😂

I think there’s a few Karens-by-behavior here but don’t know about age. But I think DXP is mostly populated by millennials with some Gen x’er sprinkled in like you, Venus Aquarius, hydorah. I think most of the Scorpios who left were all gen X. Idk if ands is millennial or gen x. There’s actually very few gen z here which is kind of strange since I think most of us joined when we were that young, vulnerable age of asking for Astro love advice~

I think most people start exiting social media at around 50 - 55ish. I was glad when the boomers on this site left. They were like rabid, vicious, angry old people.... and to think they were the hippie generation always made me scratch my head.

No Gen X-ers hardly here as the time is up around 50. Time for me to exit soon too. There comes a time when you just don't give a fuck and things, issues, topics, just keep repeating itself because of how long you have lived. It's like blah. I've seen other websites where people openly talk about "when Gen X-ers where here..." and it's good comments but I see that as my cue to leave too.

I also see some websites where boomers are still at it with the bullshit, LOL.

Gen Z don't really want to be typing all this stuff. They like short quick stuff and are heavily into making a real-life impact, boycotting this or that, and into social change and political discussions. The latest from my daughter was about boycotting Apple and Starbucks. I like to think us GenX-er parents raised them to be this way. They have the numbers to make a difference that we did not have being the smallest generation ever, lol. My Gen-Zer's think it's funny that I still use YouTube.

I think social media belongs to Millennials.

Um I don't know. I sort of have a different opinion on that. I actually miss the boomers that were here. Reason being because they put some of the millennials in place and didn't hesitate to tell it like it is. I remember nodding my head up and down and applauding and smiling each and everytime. Can't really say the zoomers cus they were probably just newborn babies or small kids at the time so millennials. When the zoomers came in the boomers went out. I know three of the former boomer users off hand that was like that. And one of them sadly died since. Quite actually come to think of it they were more on the cusp of gen x except the one that passed. I actually don't know if dxp ever actually had boomers. Millennials started this format then along came us. I don't know the status on that so I could be wrong.

I'm kinda at that pinnacle stage to leave this site too. Not out of bad terms but I feel I've outgrown this site and it did stop getting fun. I've outgrown astrology most especially. If you ask me why I'm still here lord knows I couldn't answer that. And sometimes, just sometimes I feel like an old man posting beneath *clears throat* pardon the expression...babies.
