after giving it some thought, I am unable to narrow it down to one event/moment. haha, maybe I've strayed too many times from the path!
I might be having a defining moment now.
met a sweet young greyhound rescue on X-mass eve outside Borders. She touched me deeply and I have not felt this way about a dog for many years,.. not since our husky Kasha passed. This 2 year old female brindle was in an accident and fire during transport, along with her beautiful brother. it's unlikely my family will go for both of them. the mr. isn't into getting 2 dogs and 15 yr old daughter wants a fu-fu puppy, and not nesessarily a greyhound...
So, I called the rescue today to set up a visit for the 3 of us with "Eden", (and maybe "Keegan" too!) Hope this isn't too much of a long shot!

I have given this a lot of thought and there has been a number of things that have defined my life at many times.
1) Growing up in a violent home and getting kicked out when I was 17 via a shotgun defined that I had arrived into adulthood. But didn't really become an adult unitl I was 25.
2) 1/3/1992 I got sober and have remained so for the last 15 years as of today.
3) In 1995 I gave up my new born daughter for adoption.
4) July of 2006 I had brain surgery and didn't think I was going to get of the table.
Today I have a friend who is watching her sister's health fail and will most likely die within the next six month.

All of these things have taught me a lot about life. What I want to be, what I want to become, and who I am.
Because of all of these things I am a strong woman and have been shown through many lessons that life is worth living, to have faith in a higher spirit and to believe in myself through believing I can get through just about anything life throws at me. Maybe not peacefully or happily but three big things help. ACCEPTANCE, HOPE and most of all LOVE.
Can ya tell I'm in one of those moods.
