What's your Scence/SubCulture?

So I was randomly curious as to how someone's subculture and social scene transitioned over the years. Maybe they're still into the same things.

I've always listened to various types of music throughout my life. I grew up on hip-hop, r&b, house, alt. rock, oldies rock, soul, & new age. When I was in high school, I used to go to raves & listen to a lot of trance, hard style , gabber, eurodance/italodance, & progressive house. A couple years later, I was big on underground hip-hop & turntablism and I used to go to a lot of shows. I wouldn't really call myself "scene" since I don't actually hangout w/ a lot of people who listen to the same kind of music and I've kept the same group of friends for ages. I'd say it takes me a REALLY long time to grow to be good friends w/ people). I still listen to different types of music, still go to shows every now and then (last 3 shows I went to was Hey Champ/The Twelves/Midnight Conspiracy, Rusko, and Shlomo/Tokimonsta/Daedelus).

Yeah, the core groups you gravitate around, and your personal style .

Didnt really have one until junior high, and then I was with a group of girly girls, the type that were obsessed with Nsync (lol). In high school I was basically a combination of a ROTC NAZI and a punk. Went to all the punk shows etc. My purple hair didn't go over so well with my Lt. Col. lol! When I destroyed my knee in a mosh pit both ROTC and the punk scene kind of faded and my friends were basically geeks/nerds. Since then I've been mostly involved with other animal people and pagans.

I loved and still love the Shoegze scene of the early 90s..and 'grunge'..if you wanna call it that.I think Ill be a Doors man for life too.

now: holdout - classic rock & roll, dope smoking, coc snorting, no sex

I come from the Sex, Drugs and Rock n Roll era.

I love David Bowie, even to this day ... Davey Jones, I guess is accurate.

Mick Jagger once said that he met his wife (one of them) ..... they were both fucking the same bloke.

Ah ..... now that is the social scene right there .... fuckers

I don't think I've ever been a part of a scene...I always had all different types of friends....

although I was a youth leader for a couple years in high school, so kind of part of the churchy scene?
Yet still doing keg stands and skinny dipping and talking shit all at the same time so I don't think I fit into that scene completely either.

My sister was just pointing out the other day how I was never a trendy or cliquey person.
She was admiring that about me...she was very trendy...now just a pot smoking hippie. 🙂

I thought DXP was kind of a peaceful forum, until today.

It is if your oblivious to most of the stuff that usually happens. Which you probably are, or were. UNTIL NOW.

I always miss out on the juicy gossip and shanagins that goes on in the shadows of this place, which is annoying. This place has lost like shit loads of activity and when shit hits the fan i usually miss it or don't understand the full story and details. I think it's because i just type my messages and that's it. I don't check back or search for stuff.
