Why are guys quiet during sex?

An answer that I've heard of before are "moaning sounds 'gay'" which I think is stupid reasoning. Only you and your buddies crucify eachother for coming off as "gay." The last thing on her mind is you sounding "gay" during sex.

Another answer is that the guy is too focused to make any sounds.

Are these true? I thought maybe because while growing up, you guys have to keep it down to hide that you're masturbating... :p

It just seems strange. Guys encourage girls to moan and make some noise, but the consensus is that they don't really do it all that often themselves, which is a shame. They don't have to be loud or anything, but it would be nice to hear SOMETHING indicating that you're enjoying yourselves!

I was curious because I'd realized that all the guys I'd been with, all had been pretty quiet. Not totally silent or anything, but it got me thinking about how women tend to be vocal and guys encourage it, yet here they are, quieter during sex. Ain't nothin' wrong with a little noise.
