I put him in a plastic storage tub with an old towel and a hot water bottle and a little water dish like google said ....he's finally quieting down but he was trying to jump out for a solid 30 min

I don't know where he got this energy from becase at first he seemed so frightened and exhausted he kept falling asleep in my hand

Now I'm like should I just put him outside ? Haha he seems like he wants to go

You can keep him in overnight, but be careful about him being afraid. They can very literally die from the shock. If he made it past that first half hour, he should be cool. He will be running around whatever room you keep him in all night and morning, and you make have to clean up some if you give him any food.

He's back to trying to jump out of the tub .......fml

I'm worried he's going to hurt his little beak or legs

Looks like it might be a baby wood duck. Here's a good how to care for it guide until you can find a wildlife rehabber. Contact your local Audubon Society; they'll raise him until he's old enough to fend for himself.

This ^^^^

Maybe they can find him a stand in mother,

since own mother abandoned him. -.-

Fcking nature.

Omg not to sound racist but there was this Asian couple running around trying to catch one of the wild bunnies I've been seeing and I seriously contemplated calling the police because I was afraid they wanted to eat it 😢

O_O

well i used to live next to a couple families of asian descent...

and they most likely want to "farm" the bunnies. Or they too cheap to go buy one at the pet store.

but they didnt eat them, they just wanted a free cuddly pet.

most asians aren't into eating rabbits though... Duck yes, but rabbit?? no it's not in their delicacy

so if you see asians running after duck...

😆

edit --- ohhh and if white causcasian running after rabbit....

silly caucasian want free meal. 😆

What is this
somebody remembered you found a wild rabbit and thought you could give tipps on raising a wild duckling ....so i tagged you! booo!

Oh well ducks and rabbits are way different but it's totally possible to raise them! My dad kept telling me nugget would die and she's fine and Alive. Keep them away from loud noises and if you can seclude them from every one. I don't think you have to worry about lights as much as I do but I have a cage and a cover over it all day. Since they aren't free roaming around be generous with the amount of food you give them, you don't want them to get to used to having food given to them that once you release them it's hard for them to survive without you bombarding them with food. Be weary of tampering with them try to keep contact to a minimal and away from other pet ducks lol it could cause harmful diseases. Good luck you got this!
