Posted by hydorahDo you think this movie is going to be worth seeing? I mean, it is being directed by Ridley Scott and the cast seems to be very solid.
nothing that I have not already seen in previous alien movies

looks like dog chit.

Posted by TheGreatSearcherI'll definitely see it, but will probably be disappointed.Posted by hydorahDo you think this movie is going to be worth seeing? I mean, it is being directed by Ridley Scott and the cast seems to be very solid.

As far as this trailer goes, I'm inclined to believe there will be a lot of things in the movie which aren't shown in the trailer. Keep in mind this is a direct sequel to Prometheus.click to expand

Posted by hydorahIt's one of my all time favorite movies. I don't think overrated is the right word to use.
blade runner = most overrated movie of all times

Posted by tizianiAlthough there are a few similarities, I doubt this is a remake. There are 3 confirmed Aliens in the movie and there will be 2 sequels to this movie - which will basically connect these prequels to Alien (1979).
I dunno how he's going to handle producing Blade Runner 2049 (unless it's literally that he just has his name on it) and directing an Alien remake in one summer without them both being, at best, standard or worse.

Posted by tizianiRemake - some movie done all over again with little to no deviation from source material. (E.g. Ben-Hur)Posted by TheGreatSearcherWell, I used the wrong terminology but remake, prequel, sequel - at this point I don't see the difference.Posted by tizianiAlthough there are a few similarities, I doubt this is a remake. Especially when Ridley basically lied about Exodus not being Gladiator done all over again. Don't get me wrong, I'll always be his fan. But he's 75 and just wants to travel around making 1-2 films a year now.

Posted by tizianiAs @juliette pointed out - some scientists are purely intellectual, they seem to lack an empirical comprehension of the real world (any world - even our own). So - maybe they used those as a source of inspiration. ^^Posted by neves
The graphics and the artwork looks decent enough - but the content and the story... looks so recycled. ?
For start - we have the typical stuff from the previous Alien series, where... once again - we get to see another group of naive explorers - who makes you think of a group of drunk/drugged teens visiting a foreign country - instead of a highly qualified personnel who's bound to follow a tons of safety protocols (like: handling the exploration through drones and robots - from afar / this guys don't even wear safety suits - they act as if they're born there). And then - there's the same old story we've seen in many horror movies:
- a victim locked inside with some kind of monster - while on the outside we have a crying coward who apologizes and runs away... ^^
- the shower scene... a dangerous monster is running loose - while those two - decide that it's a good idea to have passionate sex in the shower (duh for the 100th time...).
It's like the comments say: when will they start sending the smart scientists on these space exploration missions?
