I find that my memories are closely linked with the music I'm listening to at any given time.
Whenever I think back to specific past events, general periods of my life, or even just an insignificant fleeting moment... More times than not, I have a song, artist, or album to associate with it.
A lot of the time, this isn't a good thing or a bad thing. Just interesting to recognize that the brain links memories with music like that.
It could be bad though.
Anyone ever get a great song or album ruined due to a mental connection with a bad period of time?
On the flip, it's really great when a song reminds you of an excellent time... even if you haven't heard the song in years, you still smile the second your ears pick up the sound.
My favorite is when music reminds me of a time of season. You can almost imagine the temp and smell the air if you focus enough.
